Description

Day 1 Darwin/Kakadu National Park Depart Darwin and tackle the Top End with a trip south to experience the rich biodiversity of World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park. Enter murky and mysterious waters on a thrilling crocodile-spotting cruise. Witness the well-honed hunting instincts and primal nature of these fascinating creatures with prehistoric bloodlines. After lunch, head to Ubirr Rock to view fine examples of Aboriginal rock art. Some of these paintings were created over 2000 years ago and depict creatures that are now extinct, such as the Tasmanian tiger. This area is also known for its stunning views - the panoramic scenery will leave an impression! After the sun sets, camp under the glory of a star-studded night sky, the quintessential Australian Outback experience. Permanent tent with shared facilities Day 2 Kakadu National Park/Darwin Be immersed in cool Kakadu waters with a refreshing after-breakfast swim. Walk through the sandstone surrounds and feel the earthy energy of this sacred land. Enjoy lunch then visit ancient Aboriginal art galleries at Nourlangie Rock, home to impressive paintings that convey significant myths and stories. Learn a little more about the habitat, landscape and culture of Kakadu at the informative and well-resourced Bowali Visitor Centre.
