Description
This popular beginner course teaches you how to safely get out and up onto your first wave. Here you’ll be taught in a small group setting of 6 students or less, so you get plenty of hands-on help. It’s a great way to build your surf knowledge, confidence and cultivate your surfing technique. You’ll be amazed at how easy, safe and enjoyable it can be to learn to surf.
Duration: 2 hours.
Inclusions: Low participant to instructor ratio of maximum 6:1
All equipment - soft safe surfboards, summer or winter wetsuits, UV rashvests, sunblock and zinc
Change rooms & outdoor shower, personal belongings security.
Great for: First-time surfers or those seeking to refresh or refine their basic technique (Minimum age 12yrs) (Public/FIT.)

From the city centre
- Call taxi (8332 8888)
- Catch train to Bondi Junction station & link to bus - 380 or 381 to Bondi Beach. Ask to get off at North Bondi Surf club, cross the road onto beach & walk along 50m to left end of beach promenade. We are right there next door to Speedos café & Wet Bar. Across from baby pool.
- Catch bus 380 or 381 from city & do as above.
- If in Bondi walk onto beach promenade- facing surf - turn left & walk along to the North end of promenade we are right there next door to Speedos café & Wet bar.

1.Inclusions (if applicable):
1.1 Standard Inclusions- Heaps of fun! All equipment- soft safe surfboards, summer or winter wetsuits, UV rashvests, Sunblock, Certificate & Sticker on completion. Change rooms & outdoor shower, personal belongings security (Please see individual product rates schedule for additional inclusions).
2. Capacity/Configuration
2.1 Public/FIT Sessions - Minimum 1 pax, maximum 6 pax (for larger groups please refer to our Exclusive Group Rates).
2.2 Exclusive Group Sessions – see individual product schedules
for minimum & maximum group numbers.
3. Child Policy (if applicable):
3.1 Bondi Surf Experience surfers must be 12 years & older. Children age 7 – 11 years private instructor session is applicable. For children under 7 please contact us for details.
4. FOC Policy:
4.1 LGS may supply, at their absolute discretion, free of charge (“FOC”) Sessions to tour guides. Requests for FOC guide participation must be made at the time of the original booking.
4.2 Familiarisation Sessions are offered to the Buyer’s staff members of their wholesale clients who are actively selling and promoting LGS. These familiarisation Sessions are subject to availability and at the absolute discretion of LGS. All familiarisation Sessions must be requested in writing a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the proposed Session date.
5. Allocations
5.1 LGS reserves the right to allocate a certain number of Session times per day to buyers purchasing Sessions at Nett Rates for that day. Any session confirmed by LGS in writing may not be cancelled under this clause by LGS.
6. Taxes
6.1 All prices are inclusive of a 10% Goods and Services Tax as well as any other taxes, levies and duties imposed by Federal or State Law. Should any of these laws change then, at the discretion of LGS, the Nett Rates may be adjusted immediately to reflect these changes.
7. During The Session
7.1 Surfers will be supplied with equipment to use during the Session without which they will not be permitted to participate in the Session. Appropriate all season wetsuits, radiators & UV rashvests & sunblock are supplied to surfers.
7.2 Surfers are not permitted to take any other items onto the beach other than those supplied by LGS. Excluded are items such as cameras, videos, audio, pagers, mobile phones, handbags and any other items of a personal nature. All Surfers will be provided with safe storage in which to store their personal belongings.
7.3 Surfer’s must obey the directions and instructions of LGS’s Instructors, must not disturb other Surfer’s or interfere with the Instructors ability to conduct the Session in a safe and secure manner and must not damage, deface or remove anything from the beach or any of the equipment being used. LGS retains the right to remove from the Session any Surfer’s who do not comply to with these terms, without refund.
8. Cancellation Policy
8.1 We surf all weather excluding electrical storms & dangerous surf. Lessons will not proceed should LGS decide that the weather & conditions makes the participation in a lesson unsafe, or for any other reason. Cancellations will be at the absolute discretion of LGS.
8.2 Should a Lesson not proceed then surfers will either be re-booked at the earliest possible time at the convenience of the surfer taking into account available spaces, or be reimbursed the price paid for the session or given a refund voucher if session purchased through an agent. The relevant agent who has sold the session to the surfer will make all reimbursements.
FIT Sessions
8.3 LGS FIT sessions are non-transferable and are for a specific booking date & session.
8.4 >14 Days: A full refund will be provided for cancellations made at least 14 days prior to the session.
8.5 14 – 7 Days: Cancellation made between 7 -14 days prior to session date will result in a 50% cancellation fee.
8.6 <7 Days: Cancellation made less than 7 days prior to session date will result in a 100% cancellation fee.
8.7 Bookings can be changed up to 24 hours prior to the original session booking date. LGS reserves the right to charge a booking fee on the purchase of session and an administration fee should session booked be changed.
8.8 There will be no refund of a session by LGS except in accordance with these terms or as agreed in writing by LGS. Refunds will only be made to the person who purchased the Session from LGS.
8.9 NO SHOWS – LGS will charge the buyer at the agreed nett rate for any session reserved in writing, irrespective of the buyer’s client actually participating in the session.
Group Sessions-Non Credit Approved
8.10 A Group Session refers to any group booking of 6 pax or more.
8.11 >31 Days: A Group Reservation will be held at no fee up until 31 days prior to the session date.
8.12 31 Days: A 50% non-refundable deposit must be paid at least 31 days prior to the session date. Failure to confirm by deposit will result in session time being released.
8.13 31-14 Days: A cancellation made between 14 - 31 days of session date will result in the forfeiture of 50% deposit. Session date, time and surfer numbers may be changed at no fee during this time subject to availability.
8.14 14 Days: Full payment and confirmation of numbers must be received at least 14 days prior to the session date. Failure to receive full payment will result in reservation being released and forfeiture of 50% deposit. No changes can be made to date and session time.
8.15 <14 Days: Cancellations made within 14 days of session date will result in forfeiture of full payment. No changes can be made to date and session time.
Group Sessions- Credit Approved
8.16 >31 Days: A Group Reservation will be held at no fee up until 31 days prior to the session date.
8.17 31-14 Days: A cancellation made between 14-31 days prior to session date will result in a 50% cancellation fee. Session date, time, and surfer numbers may be changed for no fee during this time subject to availability.
8.18 <14 Days: Cancellations made within 14 days of session date will result in 100% cancellation fee. No changes can be made to date and session time.
9. Payment Terms:
9.1 Buyers must provide a reference number and the surfer name(s) at time of reservation.
9.2 LGS may issue invoices to the buyer in electronic form and the inclusion of the reference number and/or surfer(s) names on the invoice shall be prima facie evidence of the reservation being made and the session being delivered.
9.3 Payment must be made in full no later than 30 days from date of invoice (item 8.10-8.15 above will supersede item 9.3 for Group Sessions of 6 pax or more for non-credit approved Buyers).
9.4 LGS, at any time and at its absolute discretion, reserves the right to refuse to supply services or accept reservations where payment is overdue.
9.5 Disputes and/or claims do not constitute grounds for non-payment of monies other than those monies in the dispute.
9.6 Where payment is overdue:
i) Where a reservation has already been made by the Buyer, the surfer(s) will be requested to pay for the session at the retail price prior to the session, and no Nett Rate benefit will accrue to the Buyer.
ii) Where the Buyer seeks to make further reservations, payment will be required at the time of reservation.
10. Health & Safety Conditions (for Surfing/Water Sessions)
10.1 To complete the Session the client will need:
· To be able to swim 50 metres
· Reasonable levels of fitness and strength
· Full body control and hand-eye-foot coordination
· Ability to walk independently (unsupported by walking aids).
10.2 The Client can not take part in the Session if they:
- are under 7 years of age (unless prior arrangements are agreed to by LGS)
- have a blood-alcohol reading of 0.05% or higher
- have broken bones
- have undergone surgery in the last 6 months or are experiencing ongoing symptoms
- have experienced a fit or seizure in the past 6 months
- Are pregnant
