Day 1 - Darwin to Mary River
A refreshing start to your day the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park, followed by the spectacular Mary River Wetlands. Birds aren’t the only wildlife abundant around here keep your eyes out for lurking crocodiles on our private river cruise! A secluded campsite at Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge is where we’ll stay tonight. (LD)
Day 2 - Mary River to Kakadu
Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, our first stop this morning. Clamber to the top of a rocky lookout for fabulous views over the Nardab floodplain. Next it’s on to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where a hike is rewarded with a reviving swim in the plunge pools. Tonight we stay at our permanent camp within Kakadu NP. (BLD)
Day 3 - Kakadu to Darwin
Get ready for some 4WD action today on our way to Jim Jim Falls! Once we get there, we’ll hike to the base of the falls before continuing on to Twin Falls. Feel the beauty of the stunning gorge and powerful falls from the National Park operated boat and boardwalk experience. The impressive scenery will continue to amaze you as we journey back to Darwin in the afternoon. Overnight motel accommodation included. (BL)
Day 4 – Darwin City
A day free to relax and enjoy the tropical city of Darwin. Take a look at the Museum, try fish feeding at Doctors Gully or visit the Indo-Pacific Marine (day at own expense). Overnight motel included. (Meals at own expense)
Day 5 – Darwin to Katherine Gorge
Leaving Darwin, we stop for a break at Adelaide River on the way to Katherine. We spend the whole afternoon at the majestic Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk), which is part of the Nitmiluk National Park. Experience the striking beauty while canoeing or cruising (at own expense & seasonal) through the gorge itself. Tonight we stay at our permanent camp near Katherine Gorge. (LD)
Day 6 – Katherine Gorge to Tennant Creek
Not far to the south is Mataranka, where you can revive in a sparkling thermal pool surrounded by lush tropical forest. Next stop is the iconic Daly Waters outback hotel, the Territory’s oldest pub. Nearby lies Australia’s first international airport, but you won’t get a flight back home from here these days! After lunch, we continue south to Tennant Creek where we camp overnight at Juno Horse Farm. (BLD)
Day 7 – Tennant Creek to Alice Springs
This morning we check out the sacred site of the Devils Marbles, which balance precariously on their rocky perch. From here we stop in at Barrow Creek Pub, home to the historic Telegraph Station – catch a glimpse of what Outback telecommunication used to be like! We cross over the Tropic of Capricorn, before arriving early evening into Alice Springs (BL).
Overnight Motel accommodation included.
Day 8 – Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & Uluru
Kick off your adventure on top of a camel! Our first stop is the Outback Camel Farm where you can choose to ride atop one of these desert giants (at own expense). From here it’s off to Uluru (Ayers Rock), and a bite to eat. Kata Tjuta will fascinate you, and you will discover some of the secrets of this ancient landform on the Valley of the Winds hike. You’ll be mesmerised as the desert sun sets over Uluru, and as the night grows darker, curl up in your swag (Aussie bedroll) under millions of stars. (LD)
Day 9 – Uluru to Kings Canyon
It’s an early start this morning, but you’ll be rewarded with a glorious Uluru sunrise. Stretch your legs with a walk around Uluru’s base (unguided), or climb to the top if you choose. You’ll deepen your understanding of the land and its stories at the Cultural Centre. After lunch we travel to our permanent campsite at Kings Canyon. You’ll fall asleep contented with a delicious camp oven dinner filling your stomach. (BLD)
Day 10 – Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Get your hiking shoes on today as we head out to explore the impressive formations which make up Kings Canyon. You’ll be left breathless by the sheer beauty of the canyon as we trek through the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. Lunch is a welcome prospect, before we make our way back to Alice Springs. (BL)

Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), hat & sunscreen, towel & toiletries, warm clothing in winter, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired for $20)

Climate
Australia is by nature a warm and friendly place.  You can expect high temperatures in the summer but be prepared for lower temperatures at night and during the Australian winter.  Bear in mind that conditions can change quickly, especially in Southern Australia, and you should be prepared for rain and snow at times.
 
How much Luggage can I bring?
The vehicle has limited space so please keep your luggage to a maximum of 15 kgs in a backpack or soft overnight bag with a small day pack for easy access to camera, film, sunblock etc
 
What Do I Eat?
Our emphasis is on fresh food wherever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied.  If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can cater for you, but if you have very specific dietary needs you may need to provide your own food, please discuss this at time of booking.  For breakfast we supply cereals, toast, tea and coffee.  Lunch is usually a self-serve sandwich and salads in the evening we have a cooked dinner.  We always carry water in the vehicle and you will often have the chance to buy your own drinks, ice-creams etc at stops.

Please ask your agent for your pick-up place at time of booking.
 
Do I need to reconfirm my Tour?
YES!  You must call us on 1300 654 604 before 16.00hrs the day prior to travel with the name of your accommodation and room number. 
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN THE
CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING.
 
How Fit do I have to be?
Our tours are active so a reasonable level of fitness and swimming ability is needed.  If you enjoy hiking through gorges, swimming in waterfalls and directly experiencing the environment then our tours are perfect for you.  If you have any doubts about your suitability for our tours, please check with our Reservations Department before making a booking.
NOTE:  Tours graded ‘3 boots’ on the Fitness Guide are only suitable for very fit and active people who enjoy basic bush camping.  They are not suitable for children.
 
Do I have to Participate?
Part of the enjoyment of our tours is bonding with a group of like-minded adventurers so we make them active and hands on.  With the exception of our ‘Safari in Style’ tour, passengers are expected to help with the preparation of food, washing of dishes and general assistance to the guide as directed.
 
Cancellation Policy
Fees will be charged in event of booking cancellations:
48 Hours - 30 Days              25% of Fare
24 Hours - 48 Hours            50% of Fare
Within 24 Hours 100% of Fare
 
Conditions of Travel
Adventure Tours Australia reserves the right to alter the route or itinerary of any of its tours and arrange alternative carriers to those advertised if necessary.  No refunds will be given in these circumstances or in the event of any delay, curtailment or alteration of a trip resulting from any cause including severe weather conditions or mechanical failure. 
A minimum number of passengers is required to operate each tour. It may therefore be necessary to cancel a scheduled departure and to offer an alternative or full refund for that tour. Adventure Tours can’t guarantee pick up or off times and are not liable for passenger failure to connect with other services.  We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or baggage.
 
Children
• Children 7 years and under are not permitted to travel on all tours
• Children 12 years and under are not permitted to travel on all
4WD tours. 
• Children over 12 years of age pay full adult fare
• Children aged 8-12 years receive a discount of 10% on all tours, (price available upon application).  The 10% discount is only available
on accommodated tours when the child shares the accommodation
  with an adult. 
• Children under 16 years of age are not permitted to travel unless accompanied by an adult. 
 
Liability
Whilst we make every effort to safeguard our clients and their belongings, we cannot be held responsible for personal injury or loss due to events which are beyond our control.  Passengers should note that adventure travel involves a higher than normal risk and a signed release will be required from all participants before tour departure.
 
Insurance
Travel insurance is NOT included, we strongly recommend that passengers have their own travel insurance against illness, injury, loss/damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed departure date.
 
Surcharges & Levies
Credit card payments will attract a 2 % surcharge.

Smoking & Drinking
Australian Government regulations prohibit smoking and the drinking of alcohol inside tourist vehicles in Australia (smoking and drinking should be limited to stops along the route).
