ITINERARY:

Darwin to Mary River (zz)

Swim and hike at Litchfield, see the massive termite mounds and waterfalls! Learn about Aboriginal bush tucker from Traditional Owners, have a go at playing the ‘didge’ and throwing a spear! Spot for crocs and other wildlife on a private river cruise at the Mary River Wetlands. Overnight camp.

Mary River to Kakadu (zz)

Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr, then clamber to the top of a rocky lookout for fabulous views over the Nardab floodplain. Hike into Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), for a swim in the plunge pools. Camp overnight in Kakadu.

Kakadu to Darwin

Some 4WD action today. Jim Jim Falls is our first stop, then see spectacular Twin Falls – we get there on a boat and walk along the boardwalk (seasonal). Farewell to Kakadu and travel back to Darwin.

BRING: Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), swimming gear, hat & sunscreen, toiletries, warm clothing in winter, water bottle, torch, insect repellent, camera, sleeping bag (can be hired for $20).
