ITINERARY

Day 1 - Kakadu

We head off toward Kakadu stopping on the Marrakai Floodplain then keep a watch for ‘crocs’ and other wildlife on a Private Crocodile and Wildlife Cruise on Corroboree Billabong, a part of the Mary River system. Ubirr Rock is recognised as one of the most famous Aboriginal rock art and cultural areas in the world. A climb to the top will reward you with a 360° view over floodplains and the Arnhem Land Escarpment. (LD) • Camp: Minimal Facility Campground (toilets/no showers available)

Day 2 - Kakadu

Today we 4WD toward Twin Falls where you’ll get to enjoy an informative boat cruise with an Aboriginal guide up Twin Falls Gorge. There’s also the opportunity for a rugged hike to the top of Twin Falls for a spectacular view. Next we 4WD through creeks and sand on our way to mighty Jim Jim Falls where a swim in the plunge pool is sure to wake you as you cool down in the refreshing water. (BLD) • Camp: Minimal Facility Campground (toilets/no showers available)

Day 3 - Kakadu

We start the day with an exclusive Aboriginal cultural experience where you’ll learn about traditional foods, listen to Dreamtime stories as well as joining in some fun and hands on activities. Next up is a refreshing swim at Barramundi Gorge where you can spend time exploring, rock climbing, relaxing or swimming in the waterfalls. Then you can view displays on Kakadu and learn about the local Aboriginal people at the Warradjan Cultural Centre. Our last highlight today is a swim at Moline Rock Hole, one of our Special Permit areas, and a beautiful waterfall perfect for cooling down before heading to our overnight campsite near Katherine. (BLD) • Camp: Edith Falls (toilets/showers available)

Day 4 - Katherine

Today can either be taken at your leisure or you may prefer an extremely active adventure as we have a full day canoeing up Katherine Gorge exploring this breathtaking region - the choice is yours (canoe hire is at additional expense). Enjoy a hike then a swim at Edith Falls after an awesome day. (BLD) • Camp: Edith Falls (toilets/showers available)

Day 5 - Litchfield

The highlight today is Litchfield National Park and our first stop is at the picturesque Florence Falls for a refreshing swim after a short walk through the surrounding monsoon rainforest. Swim in the crystal clear rock pools of Buley Rock holes before a short drive to the famous Wangi Falls. We hold two exclusive permits which allow us to access Upper Tolmer Falls and Upper Sandy Creek Falls. After a scenic bushwalk you can swim in a secluded location with no other tourists in sight – it’s pretty special! Departing Litchfield we pass by floodplains scattered with hundreds of Meridian Termite Mounds and make a brief stop to learn more about the inhabitants of these amazing structures. (BL)
