"From the Great Wall to the Warriors. Explore Beijing and its many sites, spend a day and night out at the incredible Great Wall of China, take a step back in time to historic Pingyao, before arriving in Xian, where you will explore the city and visit the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors
Day 1 Beijing
Welcome to Beijing! This evening you will meet your Trip Leader and the rest of your travelling companions in the café area of the hostel. After a brief information session, you may want to join your group to explore the local bar and restaurant area. Your Trip leader will be sure to show you their favourites.
Day 2 Beijing
Today is free to explore the citadel at your own pace. You may like to visit the Forbidden City, check out some markets, visit Beijing's Art district or meander through Beijing's old hutongs.
Day 3 Beijing
This morning we travel to a small village outside of Beijing to explore non renovated sections of the Great Wall. Tonight we stay a close to the ancient ramparts and you have the option of joining your trip leader at a local restaurant for a fabulous meal.
Day 4 Beijing
Feel free to spend the morning walking further along the wall. Early afternoon we head back to Beijing, where we will transfer to the overnight train to Pingyao.
Day 5 Pingyao
Our early morning arrival leaves us plenty of time to explore what is considered to be China’s best preserved ancient walled town. This is China as it once was, alleys lined with red lanterns, laundry and bicycles, original Ming and Qing dynasty architecture with elegant courtyards and aging temples.
Day 6 Pingyao
Today you have more free time to wander the charming streets or you may be interested in visiting the hanging coffins or nearby Zhangbi with its cobblestone streets and underground castle. This evening you will board an overnight train bound for Xian.
Day 7 Xian
We arrive early morning and the rest of the day you are free to explore Xian at your own pace. The Big Goose Pagoda is worth a look, as is the Tomb of Emperor Jingdi, the formidable old city walls and the many museums and temples.
Day 8 Xian
This morning we visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. You can spend as much time here as you wish exploring the massive and imposing site before heading back into town. Spend the evening wandering through the Muslim Section snacking at one of the many late night stalls.
Day 9 Xian
Today you sadly say farewell to your new friends or you can continue the adventure on our ‘Xian to Shanghai’ pass to experience more of the real China.
