About Cape Agulhas Backpackers

Cape Agulhas Backpackers is an owner operated backpackers and is located in the quiet coastal village of Struisbaai, 400m from the famous 14km unbroken beach in the southern hemisphere. This stretch of warm Indian ocean beach is one of South Africa’s kite boarding hot spots.

Here you will explore CAB, a very nice little hotel with backpacker character and only a stone throw away from the pubs, restaurants and town centre. We have ensuite self catering units, doubles, singles and dorms. All the rooms walk onto a veranda into the tranquil garden with hammocks and a quiet place to chill out. We supply you with fresh linen (goose down duvets and feather pillows) and towels.

CAB has a vibrant bar and braai area which overlook the pool, a warm outside shower, and a TV lounge with a great DVD selection about Africa and the Big 7 (whales and sharks). Enjoy the view of the swimming pool from the reception area with a mini travel desk and a pool table. We have excellent knowledge of our amazing area so we can arrange everything form day trips, 4x4 trips, fishing charters, whale watching and sunset cruises from our own hydrofoil supported catamaran.

We do kayak and bicycle rentals to explore our epic coastal village or take a 5km trip to the lighthouse and take a nice stroll to the most southern tip of Africa where the two oceans meet.

For Baz Bus travellers we offer a great package which includes a pick up/drop off plus accommodation and a fun packed tour.

How To get There

We are two hours drive from Cape Town International Airport. Pick ups can be arranged for an additional cost. We do pick ups from Botriver and Swellendam.

If you driving take the scenic road from Cape Town over the mountain to Struisbaai (200km) via Caledon, Napier and Bredasdorp. Visit www.tourismcapeagulhas.co.za for great pics. As you enter we are situated on the first street on the right hand side.
