About Oki Doki Hostel Warsaw

OkiDoki in addition to its perfect location looks like a modern art gallery. We made it as the place we were dreaming about while travelling the world - nice, cozy and fun when you need and with facilities which help. Hundreds of backpackers come to see Warsaw because of OkiDoki. Oki Doki was awarded Let`s Go 2006 Recomendation for the best service and qualities they value and is recomended by Lonely Planet.

Our guests can enjoy our extraordinary interior design. Each room has been designed through a separate artistic project in different styles, by different artists. We even call it the Art Hostel. We aim to please the individualistic, those who like to be treated in their own way - personally and individually. Instead of being numbered, each of the rooms has its own name. Apart from the basics we added design and a number of quality improvements which make us unique.

We are backpaker friendly with NO stupid things like CURFEW or LOCKOUT and no early morning CHECKOUT times. There are large lockers for every bed in dorms and lamps at every bed, comfortable and thick matresses, soundproof doors and walls. Hot water for 24 hours. We are located in the very, very centre with 6 out of the 10 BEST CLUBS within 5 minutes to walk, but on a quiet square bordered with chestnut trees. So while you stay at Oki Doki you don't need a TAXI or bus to see everything or to go everywhere worth going.

The KITCHEN is EQUIPPED with all necessary utensils. We also have a small PUB with the cheapest BEER in town. You can sit there and talk for hours with travellers from all over the world, commute or watch TV or DVD from our great collection (it is air conditioned).

FREE INTERNET for our guests.(There is free wireless connection for those with laptops). COMMON places/lounge areas will satisfy everyone and let you relax comfortably or watch TV, play games or talk.

WE ARE MUCH BETTER than all the other basic hostels in town. Our doubles are considered nicer then those souless in hotel chains, and their bathroom should be placed in the multi stars hotels. Our aim is to satisfy our backpacking society and to give much more for the price of a hostel. The hostel is owned and managed by a family of keen and experienced backpackers, we know those little differences help. The people who work here are young, and have extensive knowledge of the history of Warsaw and places to visit or party whilst you stay.

Our guests will experience the unique atmosphere of this hostel and we will give you a warm and friendly welcome. Breakfast is included only for doubles and twins! but coffe tea are free for all. We rent bikes for 26 zlotys a day, the cheapest in town.

Things To Do

To see: Old Town, Royal Route, communist palace of culture, baroque palaces and parks, uprising museum, the unique mixture of the old and the new, the beautiful and the ugly. Plus perfect and cheap nightlife.

How To get There

We are located just in the city centre, on the Marszalkowska street (the main street of Warsaw), 100 metres from the metro Swietokrzyska.

On foot from the Central Train Station: Only a 10 minute walk - no doubt, the closest location from the station in town. Go in the direction of The Old Town or Marszalkowska S.t and Galeria Centrum shopping area. Exit the station and you will see the palace of culture ie. a large palatial building. Turn left on the street between this building and the station. You will have this palace on your right and big construction area and the Intercontinental Hotel on the left. Pass along the palace as long as you see a park next to it, then diagonally cross the park. When you reach the street, you will see a McDonalds at the intersection of Marszalkowska and Swietokrzyska. Cross Marszalkowska street, turn left, cross the lights. Continue up Marszalkowska (50 metres)and take the first street on the right (Rysia) which leads you into a courtyard (with an Italian Embassy). This is the correct square. We are the first building on a square to the right with a bank on a ground floor and Oki doki neon on a top.

For lazy ones, by bus, take numbers: 508, 512 , 519, 174, or 192 two stops in the direction of Centrum. Go out and from the McDonalds as above (do not get in into any unmarked taxis, it may cost a fortune).

From the Airport: We can be reached by taking bus nr. 175 - getting off on the corner of Marszalkowska St. and Aleje Jerozolimskie, walk through the underground passage and walk one bus-stop along Marszalkowska St. to Swietokrzyska St.or take any tramway in the direction of `Zoliborz`, go just one stop, and get off at the next tram stop: Metro Swietokrzyska. The Hostel is located on the right hand side of the street, just behind the cinema `Bajka`. From now follow the steps as from the McDonalds.

From The Bus Station (Dworzec Zachodni): Take bus number 127 and leave at the metro Swietokrzyska and then as above. By car: Go to the centre, all signs drive you to Marszalkowska St. and Palace of Culture. Turn to Marszalkowska (all the time keep the Palace on your left hand side) go to intersection with Swietokrzyska (with McDonalds). Continue up Marszalkowska and take the first street on the right (Rysia) and we are the first building on a square to the right, with a bank on a ground floor.

Please note! The address is Plac Dabrowskiego 3 (what means Dabrowskiego Square 3) and it is in the very, very city centre. Never go to ulica or ul. Dabrowskego (Street) in the Mokotow district, which is far away.
