About Yellow Submarine Backpackers

City Centre, cosy three storey historic home set in extensive tropical gardens with a swimming pool, outdoor eating areas, bar-b-ques fireplace and pool table. Brightly painted with a nautical theme. Great social atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff offer work assistance and tour advice. We have pool comps, sailing days and theme party nights and Wine & Cheese quiz nights. Clean comfortable mixed and separate dorms, doubles and twins. Ken cooks a meal for everyone on Sunday nights. Weekly rates available. Airport bus to and from our door. Five minutes walk from Transit Centre.

Things To Do

Judy and Ken know not only the popular tourist attractions but also the budget and free activities and places normally only enjoyed by the locals. Stay with us so we can let you in on the secrets!!! Free Wednesday sailing, easy access to Moreton and Stradbroke Islands, all Theme Parks, Cultural Centres, galleries and markets, Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo from our door, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Mt Cootha, Picnic Spots, river relaxation and swimming holes, waterfalls, rainforest walks and country day trips with our directions.

For the more adventurous there is kayaking, canoeing, abseiling, Story Bridge Climb, sandboarding, rock climbing, scuba diving on the reef, hang gliding, skydiving, go-kart racing, motor cycle hire. Environmentally, there is dolphin watching and feeding, boom netting on a cruiser, snorkelling on shipwrecks, fishing, whale watching in season.

Yellow Submarine is in the centre of Brisbane’s major entertainment and relaxation places and is surrounded by :- City Centre - Caxton St precinct - Lang Park - West End - Southbank Centre – The Gabba.

They are all a short walk from the Sub. They are the centres for dining, pubs, clubs, theatres, museums, galleries, shopping, entertainment and all Queensland’s major sporting events.

How To get There

From the Transit Centre: Take the elevator to ground level in Roma St. Cross Roma St, turn right and walk to the third set of traffic lights beside the Shell Fuel Depot. Turn left here and walk 30 metres to Quay St. Turn right into Quay St. Yellow Submarine is 150 metres on the left side of Quay St.

From the Airport: Coachtrans Shuttle Bus. Buy a ticket to the Yellow Submarine on the shuttle bus. The Shuttle Bus will take you to our front door for $11. If there are two of you travelling together, Coachtrans will give you a discount.
