About Tynnøl Backpackers Lodge

Tynnøl Backpackers lodge is open from 15th May to 5th October. The two dorms are in “Stabburet”, an old log house earlier used for food storage. Kitchen, shower and WC is in the basement of the farm’s main building. Self-catering. Bed linen and towels available at extra cost. There are outdoor barbeque facilities. Old-fasioned grocery 800 m away, or you have to go to Lesja centre.

Things To Do

Lesja is an excellent base for mountain hiking trips, or bicycle trips in the valley. You can hire a bicycle on the farm. There are National Parks in every direction, with interesting wildlife like reindeer and musk ox. Some of the rivers in Lesja are quite famous for paddlers. The river nearby is excellent for fishing.

How To get There

Tynnøl Backpackers Lodge is in the heart of the National park region in the Norwegian mountains. The lodge is situated 3km west of Lesja centre, 20km west of Dombås, along E136.

Train staion at Lesja centre. Train from Oslo or Trondheim to Dombås, change to train for Åndalsnes, stop at Lesja station. A 3 km walk westwards along the main road, and You will see our sign ”Tynnøl”.

Nor-Way Bussekspress from Oslo or Ålesund/Molde (Dag- og natt ekspressen) to bus stop ”Prestløkken” 300 m from Tynnøl. Follow the signs down to the farm.
