About Phuket Backpackers Hostel
Just opened: Contemporary Thai/Chinese fusion boutique hostel, conveniently located in the centre of Phuket town. Great value with sophistication! Sawas-Dee (welcome) to Phuket Backpackers. We are centrally located in the bustling heart of Phuket Town. A town rich with Thai culture & history.
We offer a home away from home. With our newly renovated property we offer our guests clean & comfortable accommodation set in a contemporary boutique Chinese Asian fusion style.
Phuket is more than just beaches – of which we have plenty! Phuket town is rich with architectural gems from classic Chino-Portuguese homes, Wat’s (Thai temples) & Chinese shrines etc...
As a predominantly Buddhist culture you will find Buddhism symbols in everyday life. Every Buddhist home will have not only a small altar at which to pray, but a Spirit House which protects the home from evil sprits. One of the most charming sights for a Farang (foreigner) is to wake early in the morning & watch monks clad in saffron coloured robes walk the streets barefoot looking for donations for breakfast.
Apart from the architecture & religious aspects of Phuket town you can get a real taste of Thai local life – take a slow walk around the central market & watch the world go by from many of the roadside coffee shops.
Then we have our beautiful beaches, amongst the best in the world. From the tourist hot spot of Patong beach to the more remote & less trodden beaches of Cape Panwa - all within easy reach as the central bus terminal is only 2 mins walk from our property – fares start from only Bht 25.
After a busy day sightseeing kick back & relax, make yourself comfortable in our lounge, discuss your days adventures & exchange life stories with fellow backpackers from around the globe.
So if you are looking for a real slice of Thai life in a cost effective comfortable surrounding then look no further than Phuket Back Packers – it’s our sincere pleasure to welcome you with Traditional Thai grace.
Things To Do
In Phuket all the beaches are very nice and there are plenty of activities to do for example:
* Take a trip to Phi Phi Island, good for snorkeling and swimming. We can book and make full day trip for you.
* Trip to Jame Bond Island, for a half day or full day. The other name for it is Other Phang Nga Bay, this is where they made the James Bond film "The man with the golden gun".
* Diving, Bungy Jumping, Phuket Cable Skiing, Rafting & Trekking, Biketours, Butterfly Garden & Insect World
* Nature tour, ex: Elephant Trekking, Monkey Show, Ox Cart Riding, Nature Canoe, Elephant Show, Rice Farming, Thai boxing, Thai cooking, Rubber Tapping and Jeep Safari.
We can organize any of the above for you.
How To get There
HOW TO GET HERE?
FROM THE PHUKET INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT:
OPTION # 1: The most cost effective way is to hop on the Airport bus. Please note that this bus departs from the DEPARTURE floor. The fare will be Bht 85.00. On arrival at the Phuket central bus terminal we are only 10 mins walk
away or alternatively you could opt to jump on local bus # 1 (green & yellow colour which will cost you Bht 10.00). Then simply alight at the Thai Airways central town office. Tell the bus driver “KARN – BIN – THAI – NAI – TA - LARD -SOD” in Thai - we are a green building directly opposite!
OPTION # 2: You could opt for a limousine transfer either shared or private - this is expensive and in our opinion not worth the price. Furthermore as the driver is on commission from the shops etc, he will endeavor to sell you products and services on route - so be prepared to be seriously hassled (sometimes very frustratingly so) – please be firm but not rude!
FROM THE CENTRAL BUS TERMINAL: We are only 10 mins walk away or alternatively you could jump on local bus # 1 (green & yellow colour) which will cost you Bht 10.00. Then simply alight at the Thai Airways central town office. Tell the bus driver “KARN – BIN – THAI – NAI – TA - LARD -SOD” in Thai - we are a green building directly opposite!
FROM ANY FERRY PORT: Alight a local bus or Tuk Tuk (local taxi), taxi motor bike and ask to be taken to “KARN – BIN – THAI – NAI – TA - LARD -SOD” in Thai!
