About Kununurra Backpackers Adventure Centre

Kununurra Backpackers is a 74 bed Backpacker hostel. The hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the town center and is set around large tropical gardens with water features, dinning areas, a swimming pool, BBQ area and hammocks. Kelly’s Knob is the backdrop of the hostel with its stunning ever changing colours. There is plenty of space to move, with a relaxed atmosphere, a “home away from home” for international travellers. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all after a busy day of work or exploring the exciting Kimberleys.

There are a number of 3-4 bed dorms, 8-10 bed dorms, double and twin rooms. The rooms are clean, comfortable and all have ceiling fans and air-conditioning. All bathroom amenities are shared and there is a large fully equipped communal kitchen. Other facilities include internet room, laundry, TV area with Foxtel & DVD and free pool table.

Kununurra Backpackers can also place working holiday visa holders in farm jobs, through Regional Labour hire. Seasonal fruit picking/farm work is available during the dry season (April – October) each year.

A FREE Greyhound Bus and Airport shuttle is available to all guests.

Things To Do

Free shuttle bus to Kelly's Knob to watch the beautiful Kimberley sunset.

Close to Mirima National Park - perfect for those who enjoy walking or cycling. Known as the mini Bungle Bungles, it's a great way to get up close and personal to nature.

3 day self guided canoe safari down the scenic upper order river. An absolut must do!

All local tours can be booked through the friendly office staff.

Free Greyhound bookings can be made at reception.

How To get There

Travelling WEST/SOUTH: KUNUNURRA is approx 830km from DARWIN, 500km from KATHERINE. Entering Kununurra, take the first right at Weber Plains Road (signposted `Backpackers 1.1km`) continue approx 1km until signpost on left at Leichhardt St (signposted `Backpackers`), turn right into Nutwood Crescent (signposted `Backpackers`), Hostel situated halfway along, right hand side.

Travelling NORTH/EAST: KUNUNURRA is approx 1080km from BROOME, 3700km from PERTH. Entering Kununurra at main entrance road called Messmate Way (signposted `Town Centre`). Turn right at Roundabout into Konkerberry Drive. Continue along Konkerberry Drive until Nutwood Crescent (signposted `Backpackers`) Hostel situated halfway along, left hand side.

Check-in is not before 11.00am, Check-out is 9.00am.

Cancellations within 24 hours of arrival or no-shows will incur a cancellation fee equivalent to one nights accommodation (determined by what type of accommodation booked).

No refunds are offered once accommodation has been paid for.
