Accommodation

Hotel Discovery is a large city property with many accommodation options available. We are perfect for the budget traveller who is looking for a simple accommodation that is clean, safe and has a super friendly atmosphere. You are guaranteed to meet lots of people whilst taking part in our daily events & parties!

For travelers looking to share accommodation we have 4, 6, 8, 10 share dorms and also 12 - 16 share dorms for those looking for an even cheaper option. For those wanting some privacy we also have basic private double, twin & family rooms.

All rooms have shared bathroom facilities, heating and linen.

To ensure you a hassle free and safe stay all floors and rooms have swipe card access, we have 24 hour reception & overnight security staff, CCTV and strict ID polices.

Melbourne hosts some of the premier cultural & sporting events in the nation, including the International Arts Festival, International Film Festival and the International Comedy Festival, The Melbourne Cup, Australian Open Tennis & The Grand Prix. The city also plays host to a diverse collection of galleries. Wander down Flinders Lane and pop into one of the many independent galleries, or take time out to explore the plethora of public art.

How To get There

From Tullamarine Airport (Domestic & International)

We offer a FREE airport pick up from Tullamarine for all guests who stay 3 or more consecutive nights. If you arrive between 5am and 9pm simply go to Bus Zone 2 or 5 and jump on the STAR BUS. Tickets are $10 per person however if you stay 3 or more consecutive nights this will be refunded on check-in when you present the receipt. (Pls note this only applies for the STARBUS & the bus driver must be paid direct).

Outside of these hours jump on a Skybus (operates 24 hours a day) to Southern Cross Station. Tickets are $16 per person

. From Southern Cross Station The easiest way to us from Southern Cross Station is by taxi. This will cost approximately $10. You can also get the FREE City Circle Tram from the from of the station and get off at the corner of Queen & LaTrobe Street. Then walk up one block to Franklin and turn right. We are 167 Franklin St.

From Avalon Airport Catch the Sunbus ($20 per person) - it will drop you off at the front door of Hotel Discovery

* A one nights cancellation fee applies to any reservation cancelled within 24 hours of arrival per person * Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian * Any guests under 18 must be in a private room * All guests must provide a passport on arrival. * All credit card or Eftpos transactions will incur a 3% surcharge * A $10 key deposit is required by each guests on arrival * Groups of 4 or more people are not gaurenteed to be in the same room * Groups of 10 or more people are considered a "Group Booking" and must book through our groups department.
