About The TreeHouse Backpacker Hotel

This little gem is nestled at the foot of the Austrian alps, just outside a quaint little Austrian village called Greunau im Almtal. It is the perfect place for someone looking to get off the beaten track and find some adventure or to just simply chill out and relax. All the rooms have ensuites so there is no need to share a shower with the whole floor and we provide free linen, hot water and breakfast. We also supply free towels and all rooms have goose down pillow and quilts. You can get traditional Austrian home cooked meals in the evening for a very decent price (optional). There is also a TV/Video room to kick back and chill or there are 2 great bars to enjoy some of Austria’s best beer with a pool table and there is even a sauna.

Adventure sports such as canyoning, rafting, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding (winter only) and horse riding are all on offer and all for very reasonable prices. Hiking, biking trails are at the foot of the door and in winter we are only 400 meters walk to the first chairlift. This truly is a unique hostel in its own right. With helpful English speaking staff to make your stay here all the more enjoyable the only thing you have to worry about is not being able to leave. So come and experience this hidden treasure in the beautiful country of Austria.

How To get There

By train: Take a train to Wels station and then change to regional track 11. We are the last stop on the line. When you get to Greunau im Almtal just dial 8499 and will come and pick you up free!

By Plane: Take a cheap flight into either Linz or Salzburg and for group bookings we can arrange a taxi which is usually cheaper than the train for at the door service or simply follow the train directions.

By car: Call ahead for directions
