How To get There
From Termini Train Station:
ALESSANDRO PALACE: Exit Termini Station at Track 1 (with the train tracks at your back, track 1 is on the right hand side of the station). Make a left on Via Marsala, and then take your first right down Via Vicenza. Continue down Via Vicenza, until you reach #42 (will be on the left hand side of the street). Ring the bell to enter.
ALESSANDRO DOWNTOWN: Exit Termini Station at Track 22 (with the train tracks at your back, track 22 is on the left hand side of the station). Make a left on Via Giolitti, and then take your second right down Via Cattaneo. Continue down Via Catttaneo, until you reach #23 (will be on the left hand side of the street). Ring the bell to enter.
Duration: about a five minute walk, 10 minutes if your backpack weighs more than you do.
From Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci):
Follow the signs for "ai treni." At the platform, buy a ticket for the non-stop train to Termini (about €10). You can buy tickets from either the ticket window, the vending machines, or the tabacco store near the tracks.
Follow the directions for Termini Station.
A slightly cheaper option is the slower train that has the final destination of either Orte or Fara Sabina. It will stop at a few small local stations heading into Rome, but IT DOES NOT stop at Termini Train Station. You will want to get off at Tiburtina station (about the 8th stop), and then follow the directions below first for Tiburtina station and then Termini station. Trains leave approximately every 15-30 minutes and cost approximately €4.70. Unless your budget is extrodinarily tight, we don't recommend this option as for an extra €2.50 you'll save an hour of travel time.
Don't forget to validate your ticket with the little orange or yellow boxes before you get on the train.
Duration: around 30 minutes on the direct train (express). Up to an hour on the slower train.
From Ciampino Airport (Usually Easyjet and Ryan Airlines):
The blue Cotral Bus service connects Ciampino Airport to the Anagnina metro (underground) station and costs approximately €1.25. Tickets can be purchased at the vending machines located at the bus stop or inside the airport. Once you arrive at Anagnina, buy a metro ticket (€1 approximately) and get off at the Termini stop (about the 15th stop).
Follow the directions for Termini Station.
Don't forget to validate your ticket with the little orange or yellow boxes before you get on the train.
Duration: around 45 minutes to an hour.
From Tiburtina Train Station:
Follow the signs for the Metro (Underground). Take Linea B (Line B) in the direction of Laurentina and get off at Termini station (about the 4th stop).
Then follow the directions for Termini Station.
Tickets are approximately €1 and can be bought from either vending machines or tabacco stores located inside the train station. Metro trains run approximately every 5 - 15 minutes, depending on the time of day.
Don't forget to validate your ticket with the little orange or yellow boxes before you get on the train.
Duration: About 15 - 20 minutes.
From the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare):
ALESSANDRO PALACE: Exit at Tiburtina. Keep going straight until you reach Viale Regina Margherita; turn right. Go straight until you reach Viale dell'Università and turn left. Follow this street until it ends at Viale Castro Pretorio. Turn right on Viale Castro Pretorio. The second left will be Via Vicenza. N° 42 will be on your right hand side, after the intersection of Via Vicenza and Via Palestro.
ALESSANDRO DOWNTOWN: Exit at Tiburtina. Keep going straight until you reach Viale Regina Margherita; turn right. Go straight until you reach Viale dell'Università and turn left. Follow this street until it ends at Via Castro Pretorio. Continue straight on Via Castro Pretorio. Turn left on Via Marsala and follow Via Marsala through the first right of the underpass. After the underpass, turn right on Via G. Giolitti, then left on Via Rattazzi. Turn right on Via Principe Amedeo and then take your first right onto Via Carlo Cattaneo. N° 23 will be on your right hand side.
Duration: heavily dependant on traffic.
From the BUSABOUT Drop-Off Point (Camping Seven Hills):
From Via Cassia, take bus #32 direction Ottaviano and get off at Piazza Risorgimento. Walk down Via Ottaviano to the Line A Metro Stop (Station: Ottaviano). Take the Metro in the direction of Anagnina and get off at Termini.
Follow the directions above from Termini Station.
