Welcome to Borneo Global Sipadan Backpackers & Dive Centre

Borneo Global Sipadan Backpackers & Dive Centre is located in Semporna, situated in the east coast of Sabah, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. We are within walking distance to Banks, Seafood Restaurant and Entertainment Outlets. Just a stone throw away from the jetty to all Islands.

We provide 24 hours Reception Service, Digital Access Door with No Curfew / Lockout, CCTV, Simple Local Breakfast, Living and Dining Area.

We offer many services including Convenient Store, Laundry Services, Personal Locker, Luggage Storage Area, Satellite TV & DVD Movies, Internet Access, FREE Broadband WiFi, Refrigerator, Microwave Oven, Drinking Water Pot, Tour / Information and Reservation.

We offer daily dive and snorkeling trips to Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai or Tun Sakaran Marine Park within the Celebes Sea to explore the macro and pelagic underwater marine life.

Our professional dive guide and dedicated staffs will ensure our guest have a safe and wonderful diving holiday with us.

There is a whole range of diving equipments at our dive centre available for rentals if our guests preferred not to travel with heavy luggage.

We also offer scuba diving courses from beginner level to professional level. Our courses are conducted mainly around the reefs near Semporna, Kapalai, Mabul or Tun Sakaran Marine Park in the Celebes Sea.

The name Semporna, means lace of rest and was given after the British quelled resistance from the local Bajau’s in the mid-1880s

Sipadan Island voted one of the best dive the seabed, It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that sites in the world, is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 2,000 feet or 600m from took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem.

How To get There

You can either fly or catch bus from Kota Kinabalu, Air Asia and Malaysian Airlines offers multiple flights daily to Tawau, where you're just 1 hour (99km) drive away from Semporna

If you're on the backpackers circuit (did you climb the Mount Kinabalu?), buses leave daily for Semporna at 7.30am / 7.30pm from the Kota Kinabalu Bus Terminal (Inanam Terminal). It takes about 7/8 hours to reach Semporna by bus and cost approximately MYR 50.00/MYR 65.00 (Includes Packed Lunch)
