Things To Do

Bike through the jungle or along the ruins paths! Guests at the Yucatan Mayan Retreat have many biking options available to them such as biking from cenote to cenote or while visiting Mayan ruins. Let us help you choose the adventure you are looking for. Bike rentals with helmets are available on site or preparations can be arranged for other sites such as certain ruins.

Walk along the scenic forest trails the Mayans have been walking for centuries. Discover hidden treasures such as untouched cenotes (sinkholes or nature wells) and abandoned Mayan structures and pieces of ruins. Discover the natural surroundings: trees, plants, flowers, birds, etc. Want to learn more about the surroundings? For example, what insect is used to alleviate muscle pain or what an iguana has to do with a folktale involving gold coins and Mayan ruins? Request a guide to come along!

Snorkel or dive at many of the local cenotes... Did you know that up to now divers have not been able to reach the bottom of the Yokdzonot Cenote, located 2 min away from the Yucatan Mayan Retreat? The Yucatan Mayan Retreat is located 10 minutes away from the Chichen Itza ruins, in the village of Yokdzonot, home of the famous Yokdzonot cenote/sinkhole
