About SameSun Backpacker Lodges - Silver Star
Silver Star Mountain Resort boasts the world’s first custom-built ski hostel on the entire planet - yeah, you know it, that’s very cool for the backpackers among us. This is a world-class hostel facility right on the side of a huge four-season mountain. Silver Star, is a ski-in/ski-out facility directly in the Silver Star village. The hostel is fully equipped, with a games area with foosball table, table tennis, pool table, internet and much more! The common area is so big (it officially qualifies as ‘ginormous’) and is just the right place for a multitude of backpackers to party, play... and recover after a day on the mountain.
Then in the summer, Silver Star makes the best base camp for your mountain biking adventures. So much so that Olympic athletes head up to the village all the time to train and take advantage of the amazing trail system and training facilities.
The hostel is so large that it makes a great option for school retreats or private functions and the mountain is gorgeous in the summer!
Things To Do
Needless to say, when staying slopeside the main `thing to do` is ski or snowboard your butt off, but for those looking for more, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice skating, tubing, shopping, Trainging at the Nordic center and cross country skiing are just a few things to do up at Silver Star!
In the summer get your gear out for some "mad as" downhill mountain biking. Trails for all levels and super easy to progress on.
How To get There
From Kelowna or Vernon Airport: From either Airport, use the Vernon Airporter to get to the lodge at Silver Star Resort. You can find more information and make reservations thru Vernon Airporter or call toll-free in North America at 1-866-542-7574 to make reservations. The lodge is located at 9898 Pinnacles Road at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
From the Greyhound Bus Station: From the Vernon Greyhound Station, use the Vernon Airporter to get to the lodge at Silver Star Resort. You can find more information and make reservations thru Vernon Airporter or call toll-free in North America at 1-866-542-7574 to make reservations. The lodge is located at 9898 Pinnacles Road at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
By Car: From the south on Hwy 97, turn right on to Silver Star Rd (48th Ave), follow this road 22km to the resort, pass under ski overpass, take first left (Pinnacles Rd). We are the last driveway on the right. From the north on Hwy 97, turn left on to Silver Star Rd (48th Ave), follow this road 22km to the resort, pass under ski overpass, take first left (Pinnacles Rd). We are the last driveway on the right.
Public Transit (Bus): Only available from Vernon during the ski season on Saturdays, Sundays and School holidays. For dates contact BC Transit at 250-558-6023 or the hostel directly.
Terms & Conditions
We do offer a 48 hour cancellation policy. After booking, if you need to change your reservation or cancel for any reason, simply contact us 48 hours prior to arrival date to avoid the penalty of one nights stay. Please do keep in mind that all of VIP Backpackers policies also hold.
