About SameSun Backpacker Lodges - Kelowna

Kelowna’s SameSun Lodge is the clued-up backpacker’s choice to enjoy Canadian valley life K-town style! What’s the lodge like? Well it’s kinda like the city that it’s right at the heart of – beautiful, clean… but with a fast undercurrent of partying and activity that you won’t be able to miss.

We built the hostel right downtown, a minute from City Park, the lake and the beach, a minute from the clubs, pubs and restaurants and then made it funky and backpacker friendly. The kitchen is huge, the washrooms are worthy of a hotel, all rooms are air-conditioned and there’s a big BBQ patio out back. We’ve got internet kiosks, ping pong, pool table, foos ball, shuffle board, bubble hockey, TV room, fun hostel activities… every backpacker amenity you could think of.

Our staff will help you book your next SameSun hostel, your wine-tasting trip, or tell you the best mountain to stroll up for views of the valley’s vineyards. In the winter you can stay with us and have the night life and amenities of the city then go to Big White or Silver Star for snowboarding or skiing during the day. For the summer Kelowna is the Californian-city-of-the-North... beaches and bodies!

How To get There

From the Kelowna Airport: From the Kelowna International Airport catch the Downtown Airport Shuttle to The SameSun Lodge located at 245 Harvey Avenue. The Airporter Bus $13 CAN and leaves from the main terminal. You can find more information in The Kelowna Airport Shuttle. You can also take a City Taxi. Costs will range from $20 - $25 CAN.

By Car: leave the Airport and follow Highway 97 (Harvey Road) west to Abbott. The hostel is on the Southwest corner. If coming in by Car from Vancouver, take Highway #1 to Hope, from Hope, take highway # 5 to Merritt (make sure you have $10 for the toll) then turn right (East) on Highway # 97C. Proceed to Highway # 97 then travel on Highway # 97 across the floating bridge in Kelowna and look for our yellow building after your first set of lights. If coming in from Banff, take highway # 1 west to Sicamous then turn left on highway # 97A to Kelowna.

From the Greyhound Bus Station: SameSun Backpacker Lodges is a $12 taxi ride away from the Kelowna Greyhound station. Or public transporation is also available. From the bus station, simply walk over to Orchard Park Mall and catch the #10 or #11 bus to Queensway and then walk south to Harvey and the hostel is located at Harvey and Abbott.

We do offer a 48 hour cancellation policy. After booking, if you need to change your reservation or cancel for any reason, simply contact us 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid the penalty of one nights stay. Please do keep in mind that all of VIP Backpackers policies also hold.
