About The Park Traveller's Lodge

The Park is the newest and largest accommodation facility in the Tongariro National Park. We are situated on the corner of State Highway 4 and Millar St, with a short walk to local shops, restaurants and bars. All bedrooms contain an ensuite and come fully furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk, chairs, bedding, crockery and cutlery. Check out the new Spiral cafe and bar with fantastic international cuisine and a relaxed drink - plus award winning Allpress espresso coffee. Or end your day exploring the local activities such as the legendary 42 Traverse mountain bike or the Tongariro Crossing hike with a soak in our bubbling hot outdoor spa and ease those aching limbs.

Things To Do

Walk the Tongariro Alpine Crossing:

• This rugged alpine trek is exposed and climbs to 1900m so trampers should have experience trekking in alpine conditions.

• It is not recommended to attempt the crossing when the wind is strong, or visibility is poor.

• Trampers need to be prepared for the changeable alpine weather with tramping boots, windproof and rainproof jacket, trousers, warm layers, warm hat & gloves.
