About Coolangatta Sands Hotel

The Coolangatta Sands Hostel is brilliantly located in the heart of Coolangatta, the very first stop on the Gold Coast once you cross the border into Queensland from New South Wales – Just up from Byron bay. Coolangatta is home to Mick Fanning and Stephanie Gilmore – the worlds surfing champions and their favourite surfing breaks like Snapper Rocks and D-Bah which can be found directly across the road We are the closest hostel on the Gold Coast to the beach. Our hostel boasts modern new facilities, “The Patch” chill-out bar, Kirrabelle Brasserie and sports bar. It is a perfect hostel for anyone keen to chill out, surf, take on the beautiful beaches of the Gold Coast, or just enjoy the great view of Kirra Point whilst relaxing on the day beds upstairs on the hostels terraced balcony. For those a bit more adventurous we highly recommend diving and fishing around the Cook Island Marine Park, surfing lessons from the worlds best surf coach or taking the plunge with the local Gold Coast Skydive – one of the few places in Australia you are allowed to land on the beach! Some of the local attractions include: • 100 meters from the World's famous surf breaks The Superbank”, Kirra Point” and D-Bah • Dive at the beautiful Cook Island Marine Park • Whale Watching from June to October • 10 min from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary • 40 min drive to Mt Warning, Springbrook and Lamington National Parks • 30 min drive from the Gold Coast theme parks, Movieworld, Dreamworld, Seaworld and Wet`n`Wild. As well as being just five minutes away from the Gold Coast airport, Coolangatta Sands Hostel is a beach lovers dream.

How To get There

We offer a free bus shuttle between the hours of 830am and 6pm (and a $5 charge outside these hours) from the international Gold Coast Airport. Just give us a call on your arrival and we will come and get you. The local bus stop is only 50 meters away and Greyhound Coach stops 200 meters. Or take the train from Brisbane to Robina station, and then take a short bus ride (No. 761) to Coolangatta
