Surfside Bondi Beach Location: Surfside Bondi Beach is located on Hall Street, opposite the post office just 50 meters from the beach. Bondi Beach is the biggest most popular beach suburb in Sydney with a world wide reputation as one of the world’s best beach locations. Hall Street runs 90 degrees to Campbell parade which runs parallel to the beach and is Bondi Beach’s main road. We are only a matter of minutes from the centre of Sydney, Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, approx 30 minutes from both International & Domestic airports & approx 20 minutes from Central Station. Surfside Bondi Beach is only purpose built backpacker’s hostel in Bondi Beach, built just for backpackers & travellers.

Surfside Bondi Beach Atmosphere & Vibe: Surfside Bondi has an electric vibe as soon as you walk in the door. It is by design very social with a large dining, social area where you can enjoy yourself, meet new friends, hang for a short time or settle in for beach life where you work locally or the city, surf the best waves in Sydney and eventually book your travels & plan your Australian experience.

Bondi Beachlife: Bondi Beach is one of the world’s most famous beach locations & that’s exactly how it feels. It seems to live & breathe the beach. Bondi beach offers a mountain of beach flavoured activities with a vibe that is unique not just to Sydney but the whole of Australia. Bondi life is about surfing our great waves, hangin’ on the beach & chillin’ in out cafés, bars & restaurants that provide top quality drinks & eats with a beach feel and in most cases an awesome beach view. Our bars have nights that attract party goers from across Sydney and Wednesday & the weekends are hectic & crazy in our two main bars, the Beach Road Hotel & the Hotel Bondi.

Surfside Bondi Beach Rooms: We offer quality bunkroom & private room accommodation all with the beach just 50 meters away. Here is a description of each room:

Share Rooms Both Mixed & Female: Rooms 1, 2, 6 & 7 are small-medium mixed share rooms, each carpeted with a ceiling fan, wardrobes to hang your gear and trays for under the beds to store your belongings.

Room 5 is a small-medium female only share room again carpeted with a ceiling fan, wardrobes to hang your gear and trays for under the beds to store your belongings.

Rooms 4, 8 & 10 are mixed medium share rooms that have a double bed in each, perfect for travelling couples on a budget. These three rooms also have carpet, a ceiling fan, wardrobes to hang your gear and trays for under the beds to store your belongings.

Rooms 4, 8 & 10 in winter as perfect double, twin, triple, quad & family rooms and as private rooms they contain TV/DVD facilities. As all other rooms they are freshly carpeted with a ceiling fan, wardrobes to hang your gear and trays for under the beds to store your belongings.

Rooms 3 & 9 are large dorms for the budget traveller, more beds means less cost but with the same quality as all the other rooms. They are freshly carpeted with a ceiling fan, wardrobes to hang your gear and trays for under the beds to store your belongings.

(Please note that although we make every effort to give you the exact room requested it sometimes cannot be done. At such time we will provide you with an equal equivalent room. For example if Room 8 is requested but unavailable, Room 4 will be substituted as both these rooms are fundamentally the same.)

Surfside Bondi Beach Office Hours: We are open from 8am to 1pm & 5pm to 8pm every day. If you arrive outside office hours please call the number on our front entrance and the night or day manager will check you in.

Surfside Bondi Beach Check In: Check in at Surfside is generally at 11am but there are occasions where rooms are available to you immediately on arrival at Surfside. If you do arrive early & we are unable to check you in immediately we can offer you bathroom facilities, luggage storage & access to kitchen, laundry, internet & TV lounge facilities.

Surfside Bondi Beach Check Out: Check out at Surfside is 11am. Beach life is relaxed & so are we, so there is no need to get up too early, even if you have a hangover. Just take a quick swim in the ocean to cure yourselves before you continue your travels. We offer departing guests bathroom facilities, luggage storage & access to kitchen, laundry, internet & TV lounge facilities until they need to leave.

We also offer 1pm and 6pm late check outs for a small charge to those who don`t wish to give up there room or beds by 11am. This is subject to availability so please ask at check in.

Surfside Bondi Beach Reception Services: Our friendly reception staff are trained to help new comers to Australia. Travellers themselves, they can help you in getting started in Australia with things such as tax file numbers, Medicare cards, medical centers, doctors, dentists and bank accounts. We can also help with faxing, photocopying, mobile phones, VIP cards, Airport shuttles, public transport information plus heaps more.

Surfside Bondi Beach Internet: Available 24 hours a day we have two broadband pay as you go terminals in reception where you can browse the web, read & send emails, plan your travels or sell your stocks and shares.

Surfside Bondi Beach Kitchen, Laundry & TV Room: Surfside has a fully equipped kitchen with no deposit asked for plates, cutlery etc. With heaps of cheap eats located on Hall Street & Campbell Parade offering great meals. We also have a self service laundry area as well as offer a laundry service from a local laundry that would be happy to wash, dry & fold all your clothes returned same day for a small charge. We have a TV room, reception, dining room with video, DVD & every digital satellite channel available in Australia.

Surfside Bondi Beach Sports & Games: We have surfboards, wetsuits & rash vests available free to all of our guests from 8am to 11am every day, or for $7 outside of these hours. We also have body boards, snorkels & masks, fishing rods, roller blades, fins & cricket, soccer, rugby, volleyball gear also available free to all of our guests. We are happy to provide our sport equipment to those not staying however this does attract a small charge. (Equipment is plentiful but as always subject to availability.)

Surfside Bondi Beach Travel: Booking with us will get you FREE accommodation (just ask reception for more details). Our friendly & experienced travel staff can arrange travel & tours, bus passes & packages for destinations in Australia & New Zealand. We offer a unique travel planning service taking your budget, time available, destination & activities into consideration to offer you the best possible combination of adventures to complete your Australian experience.

Surfside Bondi Beach Employment: We work hard to make sure our guests have work available if & when they need it. We have many great contacts in Sydney and locally for all trades and services. We have an employment starter pack which can be sent to you on request and is available at the front desk that has over 1000 employment agency listings, sample resumes, cover letters, and interview techniques. We also have employment information on our website.

Surfside Bondi Beach VIP Discount Cards: The VIP card is available from Surfside Bondi Beach & Surfside Coogee Beach as we are a member of the network. It gives you discounts at hundreds of hostels, tours, travel companies all over the world. It is one of the best cards around as it accepted in more places than any other card. It`s a great idea and will save you heaps of money.

Surfside Bondi Beach Security: To keep our guests & their belongings safe & secure we have locks on all bedrooms doors and entrances and we make sure each guests has their own correct key. We have CCTV in communal areas and provide an office safe for all valuables & a luggage storeroom for larger items for longer periods. We also have a non sexist, non racist policy ensuring that all our international travelers are comfortable at all time.

Surfside Bondi Beach & Vodafone: Surfside has a great relationship with Vodafone Australia and together we can get you mobile instantly.

For those without a phone we have great packages that include a funky new phone with all the latest features, charger & sim card. Prices vary but are usually around $AUS99. For those with a phone we have two sim cards options to get you moving. The $30 sim comes with $30 credit whilst the $10 sim gives you $10 credit when you recharge for the first time.

Vodafone also offer the Jumbo Cap for $29 giving $130 credit of talk and text whilst Maxi Cap which is $AU230 worth or talk & text credit for only $AU49. This comes highly recommended by travelers as the price cannot be beaten. All of these products are available at Surfside Coogee &/or Surfside Bondi.

Surfside Activities & Entertainment: Day activities at Surfside Bondi Beach change with the seasons and are often dependant on the weather. In shoulder and high seasons we offer free snorkeling trips to local beaches, free trips to popular Watson`s bay and Harbour national parks, free self guided cliffs walks between Bondi Beach & Coogee beach and to from Manly beach to Spit bridge. We also offer free city trips to museums, art galleries, shopping centers, the rocks and major tourist icons.

Night activities also change during the year but expect movie nights with free popcorn, quiz nights, pass the parcel nights, crab racing, beach BBQ`s, punch nights, pub crawls, neighbours nights and our famous wine, cheese and nibbles on Wednesday nights. Most nights end up in one of the famous bars that are only 200 meters away, namely the Beach Road Hotel & the Bondi Hotel. (Please notes some nights attract small charges.)

Surfside Bondi Beach Swimming Pool: Our swimming pool is called the Tasman Sea or if you like the Pacific Ocean, it`s not heated but it`s never that cold and it stretches all the way to the United States and there`s heaps of fun to be had in it, night and day, clothed or naked!!.

From Domestic Airport & International Airport: 1. Call for pick up (Conditions & costs may apply) OR 2. Take a taxi, to Bondi Beach, we are located at 35a Hall St opposite post office & next door to the Commonwealth Bank. OR 3. Take 400 bus from bay 10 (international) or u-turn pick up point (domestic) via Bondi Junction and on to Bondi Beach. Jump off when you see the ocean or Hall St on your right. From Central Station: Take the 380 bus all the way to Bondi Beach. Jump off when you see the ocean or Hall St on your right. We are located at 35a Hall St opposite post office & next door to the Commonwealth Bank.

From Circular Quay/City Centre: Take the 380 bus all the way to Bondi Beach. Jump off when you see the ocean or Hall St on your right. We are located at 35a Hall St opposite post office & next door to the Commonwealth Bank.

Driving from the West: Follow any road into the city from the west, use Cross City Tunnel & Eastern Distributor. Take Bondi Exit to reach Moore Park Road which will carry you to Oxford Street & on to Bondi Junction. Bypass Bondi Junction, take 2nd exit to Bondi Road. Bondi Road becomes Campbell Parade when you see the beach. Take a left turn onto Hall Street at first set of lights after the roundabout. We are located on the right 50 metres down Hall Street opposite the Post Office & next door to Commonwealth Bank.

Driving from the North: Follow any road into the city crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Sydney Harbour Tunnel, stay on Eastern Distributor. Take Bondi Exit to reach Moore Park Road which will carry you to Oxford Street & on to Bondi Junction. Bypass Bondi Junction, take 2nd exit to Bondi Road. Bondi Road becomes Campbell Parade when you see the beach. Take a left turn onto Hall Street at first set of lights after the roundabout. We are located on the right 50 metres down Hall Street opposite the Post Office & next door to Commonwealth Bank.

Driving from the South: Follow any road past Airports along Southern Cross Drive, (do not enter Eastern Distributor), stay in left lanes, through lights, past VW garage, onto next set of traffic lights where you turn right in Dacey Avenue. Take the first left turn onto Anzac Parade. Go straight through next set of lights, taking a right turn onto Moore Park Road which will carry you to Oxford Street & on to Bondi Junction. Bypass Bondi Junction, take 2nd exit to Bondi Road. Bondi Road becomes Campbell Parade when you see the beach. Take a left turn onto Hall Street at first set of lights after the roundabout. We are located on the right 50 metres down Hall Street opposite the Post Office & next to the Commonwealth Bank.

Terms & Conditions

Surfside Bondi Beach Cancellation Policy: Due to busy periods all bookings will be charged in full +2% credit card fee once booking is received. This is non refundable if you change the date, cancel, fail to show or our accommodation is not what you expected.

Please where possible re confirm by phone or email. Bookings made on the day of arrival or the day before arrival may be housed in Surfside Coogee Beach if Surfside Bondi Beach is full.

Early Departures: If you leave Surfside before your specified departure date you cannot receive a refund on any payments.

Security Deposits: We ask for a Security Deposit (commonly called a key deposit) from each guest. The amount is $30 per person.

General terms & Conditions:

1. Surfside Backpackers cannot be responsible for any items lost or stolen during my stay.

2. Guests must take responsibility for all damages within Surfside including my room & its contents caused by myself or those with me or those I invite in.

3. Guests should know that check out time is 11am (charges apply if I check out after 11am) & that Surfside does not give refunds, breakups or transfers.

4. Guests should understand that Surfside has a no noise policy after 11pm. Failure will result in loss of deposit & I may be asked to leave without a refund.

5. Guests should understand that smoking anywhere inside I will lose my security deposit instantly & it will have to be repaid.

6. Guests should understand that the fire alarm call out charge is $350 split between the number of guests in the room if no one owns up.

7. Guests should understand that they risk eviction with no refund if I damage or break anything, smoke drugs anywhere onsite at any time, wet the bed or piss anywhere but the toilet, throw up anywhere but the toilet, keep guests/anyone awake at night, or just be a dick.

8. Surfside Backpackers Pty Ltd or RSDM Pty Ltd takes no responsibility for injuries/death to the undersigned of this form in respect of any activities such as surfing, body boarding, roller blading, snorkeling, body surfing or any ball sports whilst staying at Surfside Backpackers.

We want you enjoy your stay here at Surfside, we are firm but fair and all conditions are there to keep the building safe, modern, clean, hygienic and most off all a fun, great place to be, live, stay, enjoy and eventually love.
