This New Zealander owned and operated Hostel in the heart of Berlin district Friedrichshain, will directly connect YOU to the nightlfe, culture and history of this exciting city, Berlin.

Our friendly staff will supply you with everything you need for your stay in Berlin, free maps of the city, free walking tours, bike rental, and anything else you may need. Our staff are locals so ask us where to eat and drink and party here in Friedrichshain, one of the most happening underground scenes in Berlin. If leisure is your priority, then spend the day relaxing in the many surrounding parks, river cruises, then spend the evening in the New Zealand Restaurant and bar on premises.

If you are here to see Berlins rich culture and history, the East Side Gallery (longest piece of the wall) is a 10 minute walk from our door, and Berlin highlights like the famous Museum Island, Branderburg Gate and Reichstag are only 10 minutes by train.

All forms of public transport are easily accessible from our Hostel, including Trams, underground (U Bahn) and overground(S Bahn). Plus it is simple to get here from the major train ststions and airports.

Schlafmeile opened in 2005. We offer private apartments(sleeping up to 10), 4,6 and 8 bed dorms. At the Schlafmeile we pride ourselves on our clean, friendly and comfortable Hostel here in the heart of Berlin. We are looking forward to seeing you soon here at the Schlafmeile, Berlin.

Things To Do

This is Berlin, history museums, TV tower, free tours, parks etc… and Berlin has the best nightlife that never stops - Rock on Berlin. Festivals are happening all the time, Love Parade, Chris Street parade etc… Don’t worry you won`t get bored in Berlin. The only thing is, you won't want to leave!

How To get There

FROM OSTBAHNHOF OR HAUPTBAHNHOF: Catch the 240 bus from Ostbahnhof or Hauptbahnhof station in the direction of Storkower Str.Get off the bus at the Boxhagener Str/Holtei Str (the next stop is displayed on a screen in the bus). Turn left into Holtei Srasse after a block,the street name will change to Weichsel Strasse. You can find us, the Schlafmeile at number 25.

FROM SCHÖNEFELD: Catch the airport express from Schönefeld to Ostbahnhof. Then follow the directions above from Ostbahnhof.

FROM ALEXANDERPLATZ: Take the U5 from Alexanderplatz in the direction of Hönow, jump off at Frankfurter Allee and walk in the direction of town (TV Tower). Second street on the left is Wiechsel Strasse and we are number 25.

Terms & Conditions

No smoking in the rooms and just make yourself at home. There are 2 kitchens, just clean up when you are finished and everything will be OK. If you are running late, let us know. The reception is not 24hrs, but there is no problem. I live upstairs, press the buzzer and I will come down and check you in. Also you can check-in in the New Zealand Café, which has tasty food.
