The Fraser Venture Vehicle barge operates between River Heads / Hervey Bay and Wanggoolba Creek daily. The Kingfisher Bay Vehicle Barge operates between River Heads / Hervey Bay and Kingfisher Bay Resort daily. The Fraser Explorer and Rainbow Venture Vehicle barge operates between Inskip Point / Rainbow Beach and Hook Point at the southern end of Fraser Island daily. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service permits are required for driving and camping on the island. Drivers should be aware of tide times and keep off the beach for two hours either side of high tide.
Kingfisher Bay Passenger Ferry Service
Kingfisher Bay Resort's Passenger Ferry service departs from the Hervey Bay/River Heads for Fraser Island daily. There are a number of services each day and transfers take approximately 50 minutes. Please check the latest update on time schedule with Kingfisher Bay Resort Reservation team.
The ferry cruises around the islands of the Great Sandy Strait to Kingfisher Bay jetty. Guests often see dolphins and turtles on this cruise. Tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and snacks are available on board.
