AAExpress operates a two-way bus service between Brisbane and Gold Coast Airport. Tickets can be booked online at their website. Bus pick up times are specifically scheduled to meet flights with AirAsiaX. Pick up from Toombul,Toowong, Roma Street, Sunnybank and Garden City starts at 5.00 a.m. and travel distance is approximately 98 kilometres. The journey takes about 90 minutes to reach Gold Coast Airport in time for AirAsiaX flight departure. Arriving passengers will be met by their driver at the arrival lounge of Gold Coast Airport and bus will depart the airport at approximately 9.00 a.m. for the return journey to Brisbane. Passengers on other airlines are welcomed to book their bus service if the timing fits your flight schedule.

Gulflander

The Gulflander is the historic rail experience that is famous for going from "nowhere to nowhere". Venturing from Normanton on the remote Gulf of Carpentaria the train travels to Croydon 140 kilometres away. This is old gold territory with a history to match the incredible terrain. The railway is heritage listed and the only line in Queensland still measured in miles. Opened in 1891 to join Normanton to the teeming goldfields, the line has never been linked to the main Queensland Rail network. Today the Gulflander is a tourism icon and working tribute to the early pioneers of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Old RM93 is the longest serving railmotor the line has seen and one of only a few still running in Australia.
