Gold Coast Heritage Expo and Fair
Take a walk down memory lane at the free Gold Coast Heritage Expo and Fair. This very popular event, hosted every two years by Gold Coast City Council, showcases the Coasts local heritage community groups and organisations. Themed around the 1940s and rest and recreation on the Gold Coast, this year's event will have a full program to keep the day interesting and fun.
Drift back to the sounds of the 40s, with the Andrews Sisters Back to Basics show and the Big Band sound from the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra. Book early for a free antique valuation. Displays will showcase the city's history, from the coast to the hinterland. You'll be able to research your family history, meander around old machinery, vintage cars, war memorabilia; shop at vintage market stalls and enjoy a variety of scrumptious food, including a Rotary sausage sizzle.
Surfers Paradise Festival
Surfers Paradise Festival is an annual community celebration of music, food, fashion, film and art and a key driver of the Gold Coast’s long-term cultural development.
Across the four weekends of the festival, the Surfers Paradise precinct becomes a dynamic, inclusive and interactive event space and a hub of Gold Coast creativity.
The free event platforms local and international talent within the streets and venues of Surfers Paradise, across an accessible mix of family events, exhibitions, live music, street markets and short film screenings.
Major events planned for the Surfers Paradise Festival 2012 calendar include Launch It Beach Concert, A La Carte in the Park, Australian Street Entertainment Championships and Oneway Project.
