2012 NSW Touch Association State Cup
Port Macquarie is excited to have secured this event for another five years.
The NSW Touch Association will host the 36th Annual State Cup in Port Macquarie. The State Cup is the premier Touch competition for New South Wales Touch Affiliates, offering Affiliates from across New South Wales an excellent competition for the states most talented players, coaches, referees and administrators.
State League began in 1977 in Port Macquarie before moving around the state finally finding a home at Port Macquarie for the past 23 years.
2012 X-Blades National Touch League
The National Touch League (NTL) is the premier event for Touch Football Australia and is held in March each year.
The aim of the tournament is to showcase representative Touch on a national stage, as well as provide an opportunity for the country's best athletes to come together and compete against each other as well as to show their skills and be selected in Australia's National Open Squad.
The event has proven to be a highlight on the Touch Football calendar, and every year shows the further development of our sport.
All participants who attend the event are offered the challenge of improvement in their chosen field. These improvements and ideas are taken back to all parts of Australia.
All participants, wherever they come from and for whatever purpose, play a role to grow and develop the sport of Touch Football in Australia.
Australian Formula Powerboat Grand Prix
Formula Powerboat racing is an internationally recognised extreme sport that is highly entertaining for participants and spectators of all ages.
It is fast, colourful and action packed - a combination that is certainly guaranteed to keep the adrenalin pumping.
The series is run and supported by the members and is proud to be able to bring this spectacular form of powerboat racing back to Australian waters.
Formula powerboat racing is an extreme sport that is both fast and colourful. Explosive starts, hairpin turns and high speed passing manoeuvres provide continuous action and excitement for spectators of all ages. Spectators can view the entire course from any vantage point, ensuring that they don't miss any of the action.
Australian Surf Festival
The Australian Surf Titles have been held since 1964, the longest running surf event in Australia. The Country Energy Australian Surf Festival combines the Australian Longboard Titles, the Australian Surfmasters Titles and the Australian Stand Up Paddle Titles expanding into a unique celebration of the Australian surf lifestyle.
Don't miss this great event and the best surfers across the nation, as they converge upon the wave-rich Port Macquarie region to contest with barrels, wipeouts and hang tens which are sure to impress.
Camden Haven Music
To celebrate the Spirit of Music and International Women's Day, Camden Haven Music will focus the spotlight on the contribution that women have made to Australian music as composers and performers. A concert series and a discussion forum will feature some of Australia's best and most loved musicians, performing in ambient venues, with country-style hospitality and local produce.
Formerly the highly acclaimed and awarded Camden Haven Music Festival, this favourite regional presenter will open its March segment in the Port Macquarie Glasshouse with a performance by Canberra-based Seven Harp Ensemble (SHE). You will enjoy up and coming young female performers as well as some established women on the Australian music scene, encompassing classical, jazz and world music.
Ironman Australia Triathlon Port Macquarie
Ironman Australia will be held at Port Macquarie, on one of the most stunning Ironman courses in the world involving over 1,500 competitors competing in this gruelling event, with a 3.8 kilometre swim in the Hastings River, the 180 kilometre cycle winds its way along beside the Pacific Ocean on the beautiful and undulating Pacific Drive. The 42.2 kilometre run of the race takes athletes through the city centre waterfront where thousands of spectators can view the race surrounded by the conveniences of cafes, shops and accommodation.
Journey of Flavour Car Fun Run
Journey of Flavour Car Fun Run throughout the Greater Port Macquarie region. Visiting local food and wine businesses, completing activities and questions to be in the running for some great prizes. A fun-filled day for the whole family. Visitors from outside the region are encouraged to attend.
At the end of the Car Fun Run, the winners will be announced and participants will be able to enjoy the markets on the Town Green Foreshore.
New South Wales Longboard Titles
Proudly sponsored by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Port Macquarie's luscious beaches play host once again to the Longboard titles for New South Wales in 2012.
More than 200 competitors will take part in the event. The longboard is a minimum of nine feet which must also satisfy width requirements. The surfing is judged on a combination of modern manoeuvres (as it is with shortboards) and traditional manoeuvres such as nose riding (from back when all boards were long and much heavier). Longboards are also called "mals" which is short for "Malibu" - a famous break in California where Gidget originated.
NSW Police Rugby League Carnival
The NSW Police Rugby League Carnival annual event involves sides from throughout the state in a round-robin tournament. On the last day the top four teams will face off in a semi-final whilst the bottom four teams will contest a Plate semi-final series.
With eight police teams competing, defending champions Macarthur Bulls, Eastern Suburbs Wombats, Cronulla Sharks, Manly Sea Eagles, Hunter-Hawkesbury Kangaroo's, Country South Boars, Country North Cowboys and Riot Squad.
NSW Womens Bowling Association 83rd State Carnival
With almost 1700 bowlers descending on the Hastings for five days, Port Macquarie is looking forward to showcasing all that this beautiful region has to offer. Proudly sponsored by Port City Bowling Club, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and CountryLink, with host club Port City Bowling Club.

Port Macquarie Festival of Bodyboarding
The International Bodyboarding Association (IBA) are bringing the excitement of their rapidly expanding sport to Port Macquarie with the International Bodyboarding Championships. Including the 25th Anniversary of the Port Macquarie Team's Challenge through to a mix of international Bodyboarding action, this eight-day event creates the Port Macquarie Festival of Bodyboarding.
Immediately following the three day Teams Challenge, will be a five day mix of International Bodyboarding action including:
IBA Regions Team Challenge featuring the Top IBA World Tour Bodyboarders in the World representing Australia, USA, South America, Europe, South Africa and Japan.
Total prize money to exceed US$80,000.
It is shaping up as a huge celebration of Bodyboarding and provides a unique opportunity for Australia’s local talent to mix it up with the best in the world.
