Fuelarama

Fuelarama is a family event on the Newcastle foreshore that celebrates Newcastles love of its Harbour and its car culture. The event includes a round of the Offshore Superboat Championship, Muscle Car Show and Country Concert. Fuelarama attracted 10,000 people in its first year and 20,000 in the second year. This year event organisers propose to have a Ute Muster on the Saturday and a Muscle Car Show on the Sunday with concerts on both days.

Navy Australian Open Surf Boat Championship

The Australian Surf Rowers League has just completed a proud two year partnership with the Royal Australian Navy which has been embraced by the surf lifesaving community all around Australia and together surf lifesavers look forward to continued relationships for many years to come. The sport of surf rowing requires effective team work and a high level of fitness, two attributes of the Royal Australian Navy. Surf rowing as a sport is an ideal means to promote the healthy ideals of the Royal Australian Navy. The Australian Surf Rowers League and its members provide an important community service by conducting Surf Lifesaving duties, beach patrols on many Australian beaches. The partnership alliance aims to increase public understanding of Navy and the importance of the Navy values ...Honour, Honesty, Courage, Integrity and Loyalty.

nib Hunter Festival of Sport

The annual nib Hunter Festival of Sport provides both children and adults of all ages with an opportunity to participate in over 40 different sports through come and try days, coaching clinics and tournaments. Activities will take place in a variety of sporting venues and fields throughout the Hunter Region. Sporting teams will attend from various cities and towns throughout Australia and compete for the title of nib champion. The event is aimed at both the beginner who may like to tray a new sport they have always wanted to try through to the experienced athlete.

Sparke Helmore - NBN Television Triathlon Festival

The 2012 Sparke Helmore / NBN Television Triathlon Festival is set to attract 4,000 participants across five events over three days. This event has a proud history of being one of the Hunter region's largest and most successful health and fitness days. Whether you are a seasoned triathlete, an individual wanting to get fit or a business looking to make a fun day of it, this event has something for everyone.

Surfest Newcastle

In 2012 Surfest will celebrate its 27th year and continue its status as Australia's largest festival of surfing with over 700 surfers contesting 10 events over 12 days of red-hot competition. Some of the world's best professional surfers will return to Newcastle to battle it out for the prestigious Mark Richards Trophy in the Burton Toyota Pro, and join the honour roll of past champions including Kelly Slater, Tom Curren, Mick Fanning and Tom Carroll. A six-star Women's ASP World Tour Star Event and an internationally rated Pro Junior Event will also be contested over the 12 days of competition. Surfest will again run at the fabled right-handers that peel down the rock and sand bottom off Merewether Beach, Newcastle.
