Katherine Community Market

Held on every Saturday monring, the Katherine Community Market is modelled on a ‘Farmers’ Market’, where you buy directly from local producers. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the opportunity to purchase something truly local and Territory-made. There’s a wide range of fresh produce, locally made fine food and arts and craft, all genuinely derived from either the materials or the productive work of individuals from the greater Katherine region. There’s entertainment each week, a coffee shop and a tea house, organic fruit, vegetable and dairy produce, ice cream treats and even cheesecake on a stick.

Katherine Races

Join in the excitement of a local race meeting. The Katherine Races is a great family day out with families coming from all over Katherine Area. With a full racing program, including the running of Katherine Cup, fashions on the field, novelty events, and plenty of food and drink. Dance and party late into the night with local entertainment.

The Katherine and District Show Society

Get caught up in the excitement and fun of a rural show. The Katherine and District Show Society is a major community event held in July each year. It includes everything from horse and cattle events to a campdraft and rodeo. Adults as well as children can enter one or more of the many classes, ranging from art and craft to cooking and needle work. There are also agriculture, picture and pet displays, a dog-jumping competition and live entertainment in the main arena. All the usual side shows and trade exhibitors offer lots to do and see for locals and visitors alike.
