Fraser Coast Cultural Festival
The Fraser Coast Cultural Festival starts with a Parade of Nations at 10.00 a.m., with performers and local groups in costume, intermingled with local bands. After the opening ceremony by local dignitaries and consuls of some of the countries represented, performances will start at 11.00 a.m. and go on until 5.30 p.m. There are cultural performances on two stages, children's stage and a band stage as well as roving performers. High quality cultural performers come from all over Australia intermingled with local talent. The Children's stage will have entertainment for children of all ages, including local schools. There will be an International food-court and other food and craft stalls.
Fraser Lions Hervey Bay Seafood Festival
Fraser Lions Hervey Bay Seafood Festival celebrates the local seafood harvested by the region's commercial fishing industry from the waters adjacent to the Fraser Coast and world heritage Fraser Island. Feast and match the freshly cooked prawns, scallops and fish with Queensland wines. Fabulous music and prizes for all the family- all in a shady natural park at Urangan Harbour. No dogs allowed.
Hervey Bay Game Fishing Club Classic
The Hervey Bay Game Fishing Classic is the annual premium fishing tournament held in Hervey Bay, Queensland. The Fishing Classic event is open to all club members that are affiliated with the QGFA or GFAA. Located in picturesque Hervey Bay the four day event attracts top game fishing anglers nationwide.
Hervey Bay Gem and Mineral Show
Held over two days, the Annual Hervey Bay Gem Show is one of the premier events of the year for the Fraser Coast.
The Gem Show has been part of the Fraser Coast events calendar for 45 years and attracts hundreds of intra and interstate visitors who are drawn to the event for the vast range of gems including sapphire, tourmalines, emeralds, garnets, opals and pearls; the exciting displays of gemstones and jewellery and the many activities which take place over the weekend.
There are demonstrations of faceting and other educational displays, raffles with excellent prizes, various food stalls and a fun atmosphere.
Hervey Bay Whale Festival
The Hervey Bay Whale Festival is an iconic annual event celebrating Hervey Bay's unique "Up Close and Personal" whale watch season. The festival is a dynamic celebration of their coastal community and the unbreakable link between humans and our natural environment.
Families and the young at heart can enjoy a day program featuring an eco-expo, a kids recycle factory activity area, workshops, roving entertainment, rides and food and beverage stalls.
Enjoy the spectacle of the Illuminated Street Parade, featuring dazzling floats created by community organisations encompassing the Whale Festival's key "green" and "marine" theme.
The evening concludes with a Live Whale Aid concert featuring a line-up of talented Australian musicians with a focus on raising funds for whale conservation. Food and beverage stalls and a concluding fireworks display complete the celebrations.
