Bleach Surfing The Fringe

Bleach Surfing the Fringe is Gold Coast's premiere Surf Culture Festival. This Festival celebrates the artistic expression of surfing, inspired by the outdoor lifestyle of the Gold Coast and the internationally recognised surf beaches. Bleach Surfing the Fringe program will highlight the 'off the water' aspects of our surfing culture through artistic extravaganza including photography, design, fashion, music, artisans and film. It will run in conjunction and complement the 'on the water' competition programme the launch of the World surfing calendar in February/March, each year, the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro.

Celtic Thunder

Over the past twelve months, Australians have been quietly discovering what American audiences already know, that Celtic Thunder is a phenomenal international hit. With their DVD and CD “The Show” having just gone twice platinum in Australia and their DVD “The Show” still in the Top 30 ARIA charts after a staggering 33 weeks, Celtic Thunder is set to tour Australia for the very first time. Celtic Thunder were named One World Album Artists for 2009 by Billboard Magazine and their three albums featured in the Top 10 World Album 2009 Billboard chart. Their Heritage CD reached 11 on the Billboard Top 200 in March this year.

Gold Coast Cup

Northcliffe Outrigger Canoe Club is thrilled to host the 16th annual Gold Coast Cup. The longest outrigger canoe race in Australia, the 43 kilometre event is one of the highlights on the global calendar. Top paddlers from around the world will descend on the Gold Coast for this year's exciting race. The Gold Coast Cup course is one of the best you'll find anywhere. Crews line up off Greenmount Beach and race in an easterly direction before doubling back through the start line and continuing north along the spectacular Gold Coast coastline. 2012 also sees a second day of racing incorporating a six man short course and one and two man single outriggers. A great event !

Gold Coast Triathlon - Luke Harrop Memorial

Gold Coast Tri – Luke Harrop Memorial is now the new way to finish the Gatorade Queensland Tri Series. Set at the newly developed Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast, the venue is perfect for the series grand final! Join family, friends and work-mates and get involved in Queensland's largest tri series. The event includes Queensland Tri Series Triathlon: 750 metre swim, 20 kilometre cycle, five kilometre run. Enticer: 300 metre swim, 10 kilometre cycle, 2.5 kilometre run. The Courier-Mail Kool Kids Triathlon: 100 metre swim, two kilometre cycle, 400 metre run. Event History - In 2002, one of Australia’s most promising triathletes, Luke Harrop was tragically killed whilst on a training ride on the Gold Coast. A keen and dedicated sportsman, Luke was extremely popular within the Gold Coast community, and to honour Luke, the Gold Coast Triathlon now carries his name.

Live at Bond - Free Music Series Presents Genre-Bending Cheap Fakes

Cheap Fakes kick off the Live at Bond free music series in 2012! Cheap Fakes are a six piece soul ensemble whose eclectic fusion of funk, pop, reggae and dance music has been captivating audiences since 2009. Their off-beat guitars and catchy melodies have earned them party favourite status across Queensland and interstate, with music that is uplifting and great to dance to. Their debut album, Stones and Sticks was released independently in July 2010, quickly reaching number one on Brisbane's 4ZzZ FM's Top 20 charts and receiving regular air play on Triple J. Cheap Fakes are Hayden Andrews (vocals and guitar), James Watson (bass), Damian Campbell (drums and percussion), Joshua Appleby (saxophone), Scott Bignell (trumpet) and Stephen Smith (baritone sax).
