You can also purchase products to take home and try, having been inspired by the demonstrations provided by our talented chefs. There will also be the opportunity to purchase your favourite bottle of award-winning wines.
Relax in the grounds of the New England Club while sipping on a wine or coffee and tasting some of the region's famous treats. Or take the children to the Kid’s area for for some great activities.
Minerama Fossicking and Gem Show
Minerama is run by a voluntary community committee with the aim of fostering all facets of the lapidary hobby. Well over 50 traders come to Minerama each year, with the larger commercial traders taking up space in the auditorium of the Returned Services Club (RSL) and the smaller hobby traders setting up outside.
Everything connected with the lapidary hobby can be seen and bought here, such as: fossils, minerals, uncut and cut gems, jewellery, findings, machinery, grinders, sanders, tumblers, grits, polishes and books.
Stay for a few days and make the most of the different field trips on offer. Glen Innes district has in the past been a large tin and sapphire producer. Other minerals of note are quartz, both clear and smoky, bismuth, wolfram, beryl, topaz, zircon, garnet and arsenopyrite.
