Gamex
Gamex is Western Australia's premiere game fishing competition. Teams can fish the abundant waters off Exmouth in small or large vessels to target over 40 different species of game fish, including six different species of billfish.
Every year since records were kept, over twenty people tag their first marlin during this event.
There are educational sessions, social evenings, scientific studies and great fun through this week of tagging and capturing various fish.
Visitors are welcome with free entry to the weigh in each fishing evening or any of the educational sessions.
Entry to the competition includes several meals, social evenings and debrief breakfast, plus tournament shirt and a range of products from sponsors.
Daily random prizes are awarded to various teams and visitors can join in with evening raffles and games.
The Australian International Billfish Tournament will follow Gamex on March 19 to 23.
Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival
The Ningaloo Whaleshark Festival held by The Ningaloo Whale Shark Committee Inc. has the united aim to present an annual festival celebrating the yearly migration of the Whale Shark.
Each year the whalesharks travel to the pristine waters of Ningaloo Reef. Through the promotion of this event, which is attended by great numbers of international, national and Western Australian visitors, the opportunity is given to actively engage in interpretive learning and activities surrounding the whaleshark.
The Festival also aims to provide an opportunity for the Exmouth community and the industries and businesses that make up the town an opportunity to showcase themselves to visitors.
