Capricorn Coasts Best Beef and Reef

Capricorn Coast's Best Beef and Reef is an inaugural event celebrating local lifestyle, food and business on the coast. Between April 15th and May 12th, coastal diners have the opportunity to try new dishes at several coastal restaurants and, by becoming food critics for a meal, win a gourmet dining prize. Just order the featured Best Beef and Reef dish at one of six participating restaurants, fill out a simple judging form and return it to the counter, and you automatically go into the draw to win dining at all six restaurants to the combined value of AUD1100.

Causeway Lake Markets

The Causeway Lake Markets have a selection of products for sale. The beautiful Capricorn Coast is the ideal location for your weekend market experience with a variety of fresh and handmade products for sale. This feel good community market is a lot of fun with a sausage sizzle, jumping castle, causeway boat rides and plenty of fishing places - there's something for everyone.

Emu Park Lions Club Oktoberfest

Emu Park Lions Oktoberfest is reputedly one of the best in Australia. Held in the small town of Emu Park, Queensland (near Yeppoon and Rockhampton) this event is the main fundraising activity for the Emu Park Lions. This traditional festival originated in Germany and is steeped in traditional good times and lots of fun. The Emu Park version is a day of fun and festivities. German beers, German foods, great music and hundreds of people all set for a good time make this one of the Capricorn Coast highlights. Entertainment includes yodelling and polka dancing. Australian beers will also be available at the celebration.

Farnborough Fair

Farnborough State Pre and Primary School is located about 10 kilometres north of Yeppoon, only a few minutes away from Bangalee Beach. Every year students and teachers help to host Farnborough Fair, which is a major local fundraiser. Stalls include food, Plant and Craft, Face Painting, Side Show Alley, Cent Sale, Animal display and petting zoo, Carnival Rides, and Auction with fantastic prizes that have been donated.

Fig Tree Markets

The Fig Tree Markets are coordinated by the Keppel Coast Arts Council Incorporated; a not-for-profit community arts organisation. The Keppel Coast branch of the Queensland Arts Council is run entirely by energetic volunteers and has been operating on the Capricorn Coast since 1993. Monthly revenue from stalls assist the Keppel Coast Arts Council with the market running costs, the promotion of local musical talent, and the funding of arts and cultural activities initiated and / or coordinated by the KCAC, such as music and performance shows, exhibitions, workshops and the annual Village Festival. Market stallholders are welcome to apply for a site at the Village Festival. Held first Sunday of each month.

Historic Motor Cycle Club of Queensland Capricorn Rally

The Historic Motor Cycle Club of Queensland (Rockhampton Area) are proud to host the 2012 Capricorn Rally. All pre-1982 motorcycles are welcome and long and short routes are being offered. Camping is available and the weekend will include a social ride after the AGM as well as the time navigation course.

Little Ripper - Footlights Musical Restaurants

Little Ripper, the latest show at Footlights really is an Australian treasure. It's a two hour show packed full of laughter, ideal for everyone. With all original material and very different from anything else you'll see, Footlights has five or six shows each week, including the Two Hour night shows and the One Hour lunch shows. Discount prices for group bookings are available. After entree and mains the first half of the show begins and sets the pace for a wonderful night. At interval, desserts and unlimited tea and coffee are served. The second half of the show will once again have you laughing 'til you drop. People return to Footlights again and again. The show changes completely within a six month period. Their current cast of Kaye Walpole, Garyth Walpole, Catherine Weaver, Levi Burrows and Amelia Schulz are widely experienced, professional actors.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon

The Mercure Capricorn Resort Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon is a race you will never forget; and a race so many come back to, year after year! A leading destination event, the 2012 the event, organised by X-Tri Events, will attract up to 1000 competitors, plus their families and supporters, as visitors to Yeppoon. Competitors and friends come from around Australia, and around the world, to compete on a sensational international triathlon course and in a great venue. The Capricorn Coast has it all, and this event, based at the Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon, is also just a short distance from the beef capital of Australia, Rockhampton. The Village Festival

The Village Festival of Arts and Music is Central Queensland's largest music and arts celebration staged annually by the Keppel Coast Arts Council with their tenth birthday in 2012. The Festival is a kaleidoscope of contemporary culture with something for everyone featuring music, performing arts, visual arts, cultural arts, children's activities, street theatre, workshops, food, stalls and onsite camping. The event includes both national profile artists as well as local and regional talent in a range of mediums with an emphasis on active participation in the arts. The Village Festival is supported and managed by a large group of volunteers who share a common vision to stage an event that showcases and promotes their region's positive and vibrant commitment to the arts. Patrons include not only local residents of Central Queensland but also arts and music enthusiasts from throughout the state and around the country.

Yeppoon Coast Guard Tight Lines Fishing Classic

The Yeppoon Coast Guard Tight Lines Fishing Classic is the Capricorn Coast's premier fishing competition. Open to senior and junior categories the competition features prizes for each species as well as lucky draw. Fundraising for QF11 Yeppoon Coast Guards, this is a great community event showcasing the best fishing grounds the Keppel Islands have to offer. The premier fishing and fund raising event held at Rosslyn Bay in Central Queensland (Yeppoon) every year in August. Funds raised from the annual event are destined for the maintenance and purchase of new equipment and facilities for the local Coast Guard flotilla QF11. Your entry fee will be going towards a great cause and in fact may help to save someone's life through the selfless volunteer work of the Coast Guard. Your entry is needed!

Yeppoon Community Markets

It's worth braving an early morning wakeup call on Saturday to get your hands on the fresh delights at Yeppoon Community Markets. The crowd starts early, as casually dressed folk hunt for a bargain or snap up locally grown vegetables, fruit and flowers. The markets host around 50 stalls and are visited by up to 1,000 people each week. Held every Saturday.

Yeppoon Lions Tropical Pinefest

This annual festival showcases the spirit of Central Queensland and attracts interest from the local and broader regional community. Events such as the Grand Street Parade, beach activities and fireworks display draw spectators from far afield, from Emerald, Gladstone, Marlborough and the local city, Rockhampton. This coastal event provides a focus for the region and allows for the opportunity for the community and local business, in partnership with Lions to promote the area, contribute to the local economy and raise funds for Lions charities. All profit goes to Lions charities. This festival provides a weekend of activities for all ages and can be a calendar weekend for families to visit the coast.

Yeppoon Show

One the most successful small shows in Central Queensland , the Yeppoon Annual Show is held over two days on the second weekend in June coinciding with the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. The Yeppoon show is two days of fun filled action! With a variety of competitions, displays and the excitement of sideshow alley. The show attracts a wide range of displays and ground exhibits featuring machinery, irrigation equipment, private and commercial vehicles, marine displays, commercial and retail supplies and products, jewellery and fancy goods, clothing and edible products. Also featured are school and college promotional stands, trade exhibits and a large display of edible and exotic fruits, vegetables and a competitive section for the pineapple industry. So come along to the 58th Yeppoon Annual Show.
