On Thursday 15 March 2012 there will be a display in Forest Place at 11am of the 44 around 100 years old one or two cylinder veteran motorcycles and automobiles which, on Friday 16th will depart from Government House Perth on a 4,100 kilometre Expedition to Sydney. This will take 20 days with two rest days. The Expedition celebrates "Our Forgotten Heroes" Sid Ferguson’s and Francis Birtle’s 1912 Historic and Heroic First West to East crossing of Australia by a motor vehicle - a 1912 BRUSH , a single cylinder 10 horsepower runabout taking 28 days with virtually no roads, driving from dawn to dusk. It will be a once in a lifetime experience for each Australian who sees the 2012 expedition at the start at Perth, en route and at the finish at the GPO Martin Place, George St. Sydney.
