NORPA is one of the leading regional performing arts companies in Australia. It has earned this reputation by being at the forefront of the regional theatre movement throughout its 15 year history and has contributed significantly to the national industry. Since its establishment in 1993, NORPA has presented over 200 productions, 26 of which were NORPA produced, including 14 original works and five productions that have toured nationally. With Artistic Director Julian Louis, NORPA aims to develop new theatre inspired by this region. In reflecting local culture, myth and character NORPA aims to contribute significantly to the artistic identity of Australia. The 2012 season is a mix of powerful new theatre, devastatingly funny comedy, brilliant and innovative dance, poignant texts and wonderfully directed woks form across Australia and the world.
