Description
Set on the stunning land reserves surrounding Lake Argyle, Durack's Folly is a single stage 60 kilometre mountain bike race from the creator of the Gibb River Road Mountain Bike Challenge. Lending its name to event and providing a unique race feature is an impossibly steep and technically difficult cattle pass constructed in the 1890s by the pioneering Durack Family. A prize purse will be offered to the first male and female competitor able to ascend Durack's Folly without football or assistance. This is a savage hike-a-bike section but the views are worth the effort. Competitors will utilise four wheel drives, single and service tracks leading out from and returning to the Lake Argyle Resort Village. Durack's Folly is set to showcase the extraordinary potential for adventure style racing in the East Kimberley as complimentary event to the Lake Argyle Classic.
