Description
When the mighty King Lear decides to arrange his succession amongst his three daughters, he poses them a simple question: who loves me the most?
But when his favourite daughter Cordelia refuses the challenge, an enraged Lear banishes her, little realizing how his own vanity has blinded him to the purest expression of love and loyalty.
Quickly usurped by his scheming elder daughters, Lear is gradually driven mad by the enormity of his decision and its unintended consequences.
Exiled on a wind-blasted moor, Lear's few remaining friends try to reveal the folly of his ways, in the desperate hope that it is not too late to save Lear's life and throne from the events he has unleashed.
King Lear rages from political intrigues to the most intimate of family secrets as we witness a man unravelled by the misuse and abuse of naked power.
