Canberra - Destination Canberra

Canberra, capital of ACT and the nation, prides itself on being one of the world's best examples of urban planning and landscape architecture, for which it has Chicago-born designer Walter Burley Griffin to thank.

Home to Australia's Federal Parliament, the National Gallery and War Memorial, Canberra is an icon of cultural sightseeing.  The National Museum, Mt Ainslie and Red Hill lookouts, many beautiful embassies, National film and Archive Exhibition and  the Royal Australian Mint all contribute to make Canberra an interesting and varied place to visit.

This city has gone out of its way to enhance its natural surrounding, planting over 12 million trees. Surrounded by hills and close to good bushwalking and skiing country Canberra is a beautiful location, great for a cultural catch-up and maybe a spot of sailing on the artificial Lake Burley Griffin in the city centre.
