San Jose is sthe nation's capital.  Surrounded by forested mountain ranges, it is a city filled with world-class museums, parks, hotels, theatres and historic buildings.  The city is a great place to find your bearings, meet some people and start your Costa Rican adventures.

Situated about 185km out of San Jose in Monteverde.  The famous Costa Rican Cloud Forest is a must!  To get there take the Pan American Highway west for nearly 150km until the turnoff for Monteverde, on the right just before coming to the bridgeover the Rio Lagarto.  Continue on the gravel road for 35km.  It is also recommended that if you are driving there, to take a 4-wheel drive.  There are many activities, which include the famous canopy tour as well as hikes and horse back riding.
