Famous for uncrowded beaches, great hiking trails, the "wild coast",
strong Xhosa culture, Addo Elephant Park, Port Elizabeth, East London,
Eastern Cape Province is a beautiful area. And the cape's Jeffrey's
Bay is all about one thing - waves and catching them. The surf is
magnificent here and is the main attraction for visitors to this small
town. However don't despair if you don't surf, there's heaps of other
activities such as reef diving, windsurfing and fishing. You can also view
whales and dolphins, and enjoy horse riding and walking trails.
The next bay east of Jeffrey's Bay is Algoa Bay. The city of Port
Elizabeth, or the "Friendly City", looks down on Algoa Bay from atop steep
hills. There is a mixture of history and industry in Port Elizabeth. You
will find the city has some interesting old architecture and the lovely
Settler's Park has hectares of established and natural parklands. 72km
north of Port Elizabeth is Addo Elephant National Park which supports over
200 elephants - it's definitely worth a day trip!
For
something off the beaten track, visit Cintsa. The natural beauty of the place
is amazing! There is a variety of water activities that you can
enjoy at Cintsa including surfing, bodyboarding, canoeing, river cruises, and
land adventures such as horse riding safaris and hiking on coastal trails.
Please note that there are no banks in Cintsa. |
