Vaccinations that you should consider for
Southern Africa include: Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Meningococcal Meningitis,
Polio, Yellow Fever, Malaria.Handy Hint: Mosquito
precautions against malaria include mosquito nets, insect repellent, full length clothing and avoiding wearing perfume or after
shave.
Water
In major cities and towns, tap water is
purified and 100% safe to drink. The bilharzia parasite is present in waterways
in the northern and eastern parts of the country, but outbreaks can occur in
other areas. Check with the local people before swmming or drinking water.
